Sony introduces INZONE H6 Air open-back gaming headset alongside Fnatic editions and new earbuds finish
Sony unveils the INZONE H6 Air open-back gaming headset, alongside Fnatic accessories and a new Glass Purple earbuds variant.
Sony has expanded its INZONE gaming lineup with the introduction of the INZONE H6 Air, an open-back wired gaming headset designed to deliver a more spatial and natural audio experience. The announcement also includes Fnatic-themed gaming accessories and a new colour variant for its INZONE Buds.
Table Of Content
The INZONE H6 Air sits as the central addition, positioned around audio realism and comfort. It uses an open-back acoustic structure to reduce internal reflections, allowing sound to project more naturally. This approach is intended to improve spatial awareness in games by recreating sound positioning as intended by developers.
Open-back design focuses on spatial accuracy
The headset’s acoustic design leaves the housing unobstructed, enabling a wider and more accurate sound field. Sony pairs this with precision-tuned drivers derived from its MDR-MV1 open-back studio monitor headphones, adapted specifically for gaming use.
Back ducts integrated into the drivers support bass reproduction while maintaining separation across frequency ranges. This balance is aimed at games where environmental detail and directional cues are critical, such as RPG and adventure titles.
Sony has also introduced an “RPG/Adventure” equaliser profile, developed with sound designers from PlayStation Studios. The profile is accessible through the INZONE Hub when connected via the USB-C Audio Box, which also enables virtual 7.1-channel surround sound and 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming.
Lightweight build and communication features
At 199g without the detachable microphone and cable, the INZONE H6 Air is positioned as the lightest headset in Sony’s gaming range. The use of aluminium contributes to weight reduction while maintaining structural rigidity.
The headset adopts the spring hinge headband design used in the INZONE H9 II, allowing for a compact form factor without compromising fit. Sony positions this combination of low weight and structure as suitable for extended gaming sessions.
For communication, the headset includes an adjustable cardioid boom microphone designed to focus on the user’s voice while reducing ambient noise. The flexible arm allows for positioning stability during use.
Fnatic editions extend accessory range
Alongside the headset, Sony introduced Fnatic Editions of its INZONE Mouse-A, INZONE Mat-F, and INZONE Mat-D. These accessories feature Fnatic’s signature orange colour scheme, with design elements referencing the organisation and its Valorant team.
The collaboration builds on Sony’s existing relationship with Fnatic, with the accessories positioned as part of a broader gaming setup rather than standalone peripherals.
New colour option for INZONE Buds
Sony also added a translucent Glass Purple variant to its INZONE Buds, joining the existing black and white options. The earbuds retain their positioning as truly wireless noise-cancelling gaming audio devices, with the update focused on aesthetic choice rather than feature changes.
Availability
The INZONE H6 Air will be available in Singapore from May 2026. The Fnatic edition accessories and the Glass Purple INZONE Buds will follow in June 2026 through Sony stores, authorised dealers, and the Sony online store.
