Sony launches WF-1000XM6 earbuds and adds Sand Pink to WH-1000XM6 line-up
Sony unveils WF-1000XM6 earbuds with improved noise cancelling and adds Sand Pink to WH-1000XM6 in Singapore
Sony has unveiled the WF-1000XM6, the latest addition to its 1000X series of wireless noise cancelling audio products. The new truly wireless earbuds succeed the WF-1000XM5 and introduce upgrades in noise cancellation, call clarity, connectivity and comfort.
Alongside the earbuds, Sony has also expanded its over-ear range with a new Sand Pink colour option for the WH-1000XM6 wireless noise cancelling headphones. The addition reflects growing demand for headphones that function as both audio devices and fashion accessories.
Improved noise cancellation and sound performance
The WF-1000XM6 delivers what Sony describes as the world’s best noise cancelling performance, achieving a 25% further reduction in noise compared with the WF-1000XM5. The improvement is most noticeable in the mid-to-high frequency range, which commonly includes sounds found in daily environments such as cafés, offices and public transport.
By targeting these frequencies more precisely, the earbuds aim to create a quieter listening experience even in challenging conditions, including vehicle travel or busy indoor spaces. The result is designed to help users remain immersed in audio content without disruption from surrounding noise.
At the core of the new model is Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3e. This processor enables more precise control of multiple microphones, allowing the earbuds to respond more accurately to changing environmental noise. The WF-1000XM6 is equipped with four microphones, an increase from the three used in the previous model, further strengthening its active noise cancelling capabilities.
The earbuds are powered by Sony’s Integrated Processor V2, which also features in the predecessor model and the WH-1000XM6. This processor supports the Adaptive Noise Cancelling Optimiser, a system that analyses external sound and wearing conditions in real time. Compared with the earlier model, the optimiser evaluates these factors more extensively to maintain consistent noise cancellation performance.
Sony has also refined how the earbuds address sound leakage caused by small gaps between the ear tips and the ear canal. The system adjusts to each user’s ear shape and fit, helping to reduce unwanted sound intrusion. These real-time adjustments are intended to ensure a stable and immersive listening experience regardless of how the earbuds are worn.
To support both comfort and isolation, the WF-1000XM6 comes with Sony’s Noise Isolation Earbud Tips. Designed to balance a secure fit with effective noise blocking, the tips are available in four sizes to accommodate different ear shapes.
Design update for WH-1000XM6 and Singapore pricing
In addition to the new earbuds, Sony has introduced a Sand Pink variant of the WH-1000XM6 over-ear wireless noise cancelling headphones. The new colour joins the existing Black, Platinum Silver and Midnight Blue options.
The introduction reflects the way consumers increasingly view headphones as part of their personal style. Sony positions the Sand Pink finish as an elegant addition to the range, offering a softer aesthetic alongside the more traditional colour choices.
In Singapore, the WF-1000XM6 will be available in Black and Platinum Silver from early March 2026, with a suggested retail price of S$479. Customers who secure the product and complete warranty registration between now and 31 March 2026 will receive a blind box containing a specially curated set of lanyard and pouch accessories worth S$79.90, while stocks last.
Sony is also offering a trade-in programme for pre-orders of the WF-1000XM6. From now to 1 March 2026, customers can receive S$120 off when trading in Sony’s 1000X series wireless headphones, or S$90 off when trading in other Sony wireless headphones. Terms and conditions apply.
The WH-1000XM6 in Sand Pink will likewise be available in Singapore from early March 2026 at a suggested retail price of S$649.
