vivo begins global rollout of OriginOS 6 for X and V series smartphones

vivo launches OriginOS 6 globally, offering smoother performance, nature-inspired design, and advanced AI features for its latest smartphones.

vivo has announced the global launch of its latest operating system, OriginOS 6, marking a major step in its AI-driven mobile experience. Beginning in early November, the update will be progressively rolled out to the company’s latest models, including the vivo X200, X Fold5, V60, and the upcoming X300. The new system introduces significant upgrades in performance, design, and intelligent features aimed at creating a smoother and more intuitive user experience.

Redefining smoothness across every interaction

At the heart of OriginOS 6 is a focus on smoothness—both in performance and visual experience. The new Origin Smooth Engine enables seamless coordination among the device’s core modules, including computing, storage, and display. This results in faster, more stable performance and improved responsiveness over time.

The 8+1 Ultra-Core Computing architecture ensures that critical tasks receive priority processing, improving app cold-start speeds by 18.5% and frame-rate stability by 10.5%. Memory Fusion technology enhances data loading speeds by 106%, while Dual Rendering improves animation performance by 35% and keeps frame rates 11% more stable during demanding usage.

Visual fluidity is enhanced through the Origin Animation system, which introduces features such as Spring Animation, Blur Transition, Morphing Animation, and One Shot Animation for more natural movement. vivo’s new Snap-Up Engine prioritises computing power for high-demand actions, such as ticket bookings, while touch response is 41% faster, and app launches are up to 16% quicker when opening 50 consecutive apps.

The vivo X300 Pro running OriginOS 6 has also received SGS certification for sustained smoothness, simulating five years of heavy use. Together, these advancements showcase the brand’s pursuit of long-term reliability and consistency.

Design inspired by nature

Built on vivo’s ‘Origin Design’ philosophy, the new interface takes inspiration from natural elements to make digital interactions feel more human and fluid. The visual system harmonises colour, shape, iconography, and depth, while the refreshed vivo Sans font supports over 40 languages. Dynamic Glow and Translucent Colour add depth and luminosity to interface elements, enhancing clarity and immersion.

App design has been reimagined to make everyday interactions easier and more meaningful. The redesigned iManager simplifies device maintenance, while Origin Health allows users to track their well-being with ease. The new Immersive Weather app presents weather information in a visually rich, dynamic form.

Users can also personalise their experience through the new Lock Screen Grid, which allows flexible widget arrangement and font customisation. The updated Home Screen Grid offers a 4×7 layout with adaptive folders, while Flip Cards bring photos to life with natural motion effects that change with device orientation.

Smarter AI integration and collaboration

vivo AI drives OriginOS 6 into a new era of intelligent personalisation. In collaboration with Google, the system integrates upgraded Gemini and Circle to Search tools for smarter, more intuitive assistance. A new feature, Origin Island, displays real-time status updates at the top of the screen and stays visible across apps. Integrated with Android 16’s Live Updates, it provides contextual actions such as Copy & Go and Drag & Go, allowing users to copy information or drag content seamlessly between apps.

AI also enhances imaging and productivity. The upgraded AI Retouch suite combines AI Erase, AI Image Expander, and AI Photo Enhance in one workflow. Productivity tools such as Smart Call Assistant, DocMaster, AI Creation, and AI Search make communication and content creation more efficient.

Beyond mobile, vivo AI extends to cross-device collaboration. Office Kit and One-Tap Transfer allow users to manage tasks and share content smoothly between devices, strengthening the ecosystem around vivo’s hardware and software integration.

Security, efficiency, and rollout plans

Data protection remains a central priority. OriginOS 6 strengthens security under the vivo Security brand, providing transparent privacy controls and on-device intelligence to safeguard user data. The updated BlueVolt technology further boosts power efficiency and charging stability, maintaining consistent performance while keeping devices cool.

The global rollout of OriginOS 6 will begin in phases from November 2025, with availability varying by market.
