Google launches AI Plus subscription in Singapore with expanded Gemini features and 200GB storage
Google launches AI Plus in Singapore, offering expanded Gemini tools, video creation features and 200GB of shared cloud storage for S$10.98 a month.
Google has introduced a new consumer-focused artificial intelligence subscription in Singapore as it steps up efforts to make advanced generative tools part of everyday digital life. The new plan, called Google AI Plus, is now available to all users in the country and is priced at S$10.98 per month.
The launch reflects Google’s growing focus on subscription-based AI services amid intensifying competition among major technology firms. With more companies charging monthly fees for access to premium AI tools, Google is positioning AI Plus as a more affordable option for consumers, freelancers, and creators who want regular access to advanced features without committing to higher-end enterprise plans.
Singapore has been chosen as an early market for the rollout, signalling confidence in local demand for productivity tools, cloud services and creative software. The country has a high rate of digital adoption, making it a testing ground for new consumer technology products that blend AI with everyday online tasks.
Enhanced Gemini tools for images and video creation
At the core of the Google AI Plus subscription is expanded access to Gemini, the company’s main generative AI platform. Subscribers receive higher usage limits for image generation and editing through Google’s visual model, known internally as Nano Banana. According to Google, the model is designed to support quicker experimentation and deliver more polished visual results with fewer iterations.
The plan also strengthens Gemini’s video capabilities. Users gain access to Veo 3 Fast within the Gemini app, enabling faster AI-assisted video generation. This is complemented by Google’s newer creative tools, Whisk and Flow, which aim to simplify tasks such as storyboarding, visual planning, and experimental filmmaking.
Together, these tools aim to lower the technical barrier to creating short-form videos and visual content. Google is targeting users who may not have professional editing skills but still want to produce content for social media, presentations or personal projects using AI-driven assistance.
Integration with Google apps and added storage benefits
Beyond creative tools, Google AI Plus places strong emphasis on integration with the company’s existing services. Gemini is embedded directly into widely used apps such as Gmail, Google Docs and Google Sheets. This allows subscribers to write and refine emails, summarise long documents, analyse spreadsheet data and generate ideas without switching between platforms.
The subscription also includes 200GB of cloud storage shared across Google Drive, Google Photos and Gmail. This storage allowance can be shared with up to five family members, adding a practical benefit that goes beyond AI features alone. For users already paying separately for cloud storage, this could make the plan more attractive as a bundled offering.
In addition, subscribers receive enhanced access to Gemini 3 Pro and early access to upcoming Gemini features within Google Chrome. This approach suggests that Google is using AI Plus not only as a product but also as a gateway for users to experience its latest AI developments before wider release.
As AI subscriptions become a key battleground for technology companies, Google’s move in Singapore indicates a long-term commitment rather than a limited trial. The company has noted that certain AI features are restricted to users aged 18 and above, and that higher access levels for some applications may range from 100 to 300 prompts per day, depending on the tool. For users already deeply embedded in Google’s ecosystem, AI Plus represents a single monthly plan that combines creativity, productivity and storage.
