Pure Storage integrates NVIDIA AI Data Platform into FlashBlade to drive enterprise AI innovation

Pure Storage integrates NVIDIA AI Data Platform into FlashBlade, enabling high-performance AI storage solutions for enterprises and cloud providers.

Pure Storage, a leader in data storage technology, has announced the integration of the NVIDIA AI Data Platform reference design into its FlashBlade platform. This move strengthens its commitment to delivering AI-ready, enterprise-grade storage solutions that meet NVIDIA’s high standards.

Enhancing AI capabilities with high-performance storage

The growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) in enterprises requires advanced data storage systems capable of supporting accelerated computing. Pure Storage is enhancing its AI capabilities by integrating NVIDIA AI Data Platform features into FlashBlade, a high-performance, distributed system that enables businesses to process data rapidly for AI-driven insights.

By leveraging NVIDIA’s accelerated computing, networking, and AI Enterprise software, FlashBlade offers the speed and flexibility required for AI reasoning applications. This development follows the introduction of FlashBlade//EXA, a high-performance storage platform built to meet the intensive demands of AI and high-performance computing.

Strengthening collaboration with NVIDIA

Pure Storage has achieved several key certifications that enhance its partnership with NVIDIA:

  • Certified High-Performance Storage (HPS) for NVIDIA Cloud Partners – FlashBlade is now officially certified for NVIDIA Cloud Partner Reference Architectures, working with NVIDIA HGX systems powered by B200 or H200 GPUs. This certification affirms Pure Storage’s reliability as a storage provider and validates its ability to support NVIDIA Cloud Partners in building GPU-powered cloud infrastructures.
  • NVIDIA-Certified Storage Partner for AI factories – Pure Storage has earned certification at both the Foundation and Enterprise levels, demonstrating its capability to support AI factories. The certification ensures that storage systems meet high performance, efficiency, and reliability standards, making it easier for businesses to deploy AI infrastructures with confidence.
  • Compatibility with NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD – FlashBlade//S500 is now certified to work with NVIDIA’s DGX SuperPOD, offering enterprises and cloud providers a validated high-performance storage solution for AI workloads.

These certifications provide enterprises with the assurance that Pure Storage solutions can seamlessly integrate with NVIDIA’s AI ecosystem, enabling them to build and scale AI infrastructures without storage-related bottlenecks.

Addressing AI storage challenges

As AI and machine learning workloads expand, enterprises increasingly rely on GPU cloud providers to meet their computing needs. However, traditional storage solutions often struggle to keep up with the speed and scale of AI model training, inference, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) processes. These limitations create data access bottlenecks, slowing down AI-driven insights.

Pure Storage’s FlashBlade is designed to eliminate these bottlenecks. It provides high-performance storage with guaranteed read/write speeds, supports multi-tenant environments without compromising performance, and simplifies storage management through an intuitive interface. These capabilities allow enterprises to fully utilise their AI investments while reducing operational complexities.

Industry perspectives on AI-ready storage

Industry leaders have acknowledged the importance of AI-driven storage solutions.

“GPUs have fast become a driving force behind the next wave of AI innovation. The incorporation of the NVIDIA AI Data Platform into FlashBlade provides the AI-ready storage necessary for peak performance. Additionally, our recent NVIDIA certifications affirm that Pure Storage is supporting the pace and scale that AI models need to create change. Through our purpose-built storage solutions, enterprise customers can easily and efficiently harness the power of AI to accelerate success,” said Rob Lee, Chief Technology Officer, Pure Storage.

“The new wave of AI reasoning will be powered by massive datasets and requires an always-on data processing pipeline. By integrating NVIDIA AI Data Platform capabilities into Pure Storage FlashBlade, enterprises can equip AI agents with near-real-time business data to achieve new levels of personalised customer service, operational efficiency, and unprecedented productivity,” said Rob Davis, Vice President, Storage Networking Technology at NVIDIA.

Cisco has also recognised the value of these developments. “For customers, a simpler path to deploying AI at scale means fewer complexities and faster innovation. That’s why Cisco partners with leaders like Pure Storage, which pushes AI data storage boundaries with offerings like FlashBlade//EXA and support for NVIDIA’s new reference design. We’re excited to extend this momentum through our FlashStack collaboration, integrating Cisco’s data centre infrastructure with Pure’s advanced storage to help businesses streamline AI workloads and unlock the full potential of their data,” said Jeremy Foster, GM and SVP for Cisco Compute.

With these advancements, Pure Storage is reinforcing its position as a key player in AI infrastructure, providing enterprises with the storage solutions needed to drive innovation in AI-powered applications.
