Revitalising old laptops: Lenovo and ITE launch the Refresh & Reboot campaign

Lenovo Singapore partners with ITE to promote sustainability through the Refresh & Reboot: Laptop Care Campaign, offering free device cleaning and donations.

Lenovo Singapore is teaming up with *SCAPE and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to promote sustainability with their Refresh & Reboot: Laptop Care Campaign. This initiative is part of Lenovo’s annual Love On Month of Service (LMOS), which aims to give back to the community through various meaningful projects.

From now until September 27, you can visit locations such as *SCAPE, ITE College East, and 111 Somerset to participate in this campaign. The programme encourages members of the public to bring in their laptops and other electronic devices for a complimentary cleaning service. In addition, the Lenovo Sustainability Lab will be present to educate visitors on how to keep their devices in good working order, helping them last longer. This is particularly significant given the increasing amount of electronic waste, as extending the lifespan of devices can substantially lessen their environmental impact.

Free cleaning services and the importance of digital hygiene

Lenovo’s collaboration with Nanyang Tech Pte Ltd further extends the campaign’s reach by providing device cleaning services for their employees. This initiative highlights the importance of maintaining a tidy digital workspace, ensuring laptops and devices remain free from harmful pathogens—especially crucial in today’s health-focused climate. By encouraging regular cleaning, Lenovo hopes to foster healthier habits among users.

The Refresh & Reboot campaign is also actively promoting the donation of old laptops. This effort provides individuals in need with access to technology, thus helping to bridge the digital divide. By donating usable devices, you not only assist those less fortunate but also play a part in reducing electronic waste, preventing perfectly functional items from ending up in landfills.

While this campaign enhances Lenovo’s branding, it also serves as an essential reminder that sustainability often begins with simple, everyday actions. By learning how to care for and maintain the devices we rely on, you can contribute to a more sustainable future.
