Smart Communications launches cloud-native archiving platform SmartHUB

Smart Communications launches SmartHUB, a cloud-native archiving solution that boosts compliance, scalability, and access to critical customer data.

Smart Communications has introduced SmartHUB, a new cloud-native digital archiving solution aimed at helping organisations manage large volumes of customer communications, ensure compliance, and reduce operational complexity. Built on technology acquired from Joisto in April 2025, SmartHUB is now integrated into the Smart Communications Conversation Cloud platform.

Addressing compliance and data management at scale

SmartHUB is designed to address the growing pressure faced by enterprises dealing with complex regulations, siloed systems, and increasing volumes of customer data. By offering a centralised solution for archiving and retrieving critical communications, it enables businesses to streamline workflows and reduce reliance on outdated legacy systems.

“By harnessing the power of cloud-native technology, we’re enabling our customers to stay ahead of an increasingly complex and fast-moving regulatory environment, while significantly reducing operational risk, simplifying system complexity, and strengthening data security,” said Leigh Segall, CEO at Smart Communications.

SmartHUB allows businesses to securely store, access, and manage customer interactions, while adhering to regional and industry-specific compliance standards. It is purpose-built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, offering immutable storage, detailed audit trails, and flexible retention rule configurations that meet GDPR, ISO 14641, and WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements.

Enhancing business operations through integration

With the ability to integrate across ERP, CRM, and HR systems, SmartHUB supports operational teams including customer service, IT, legal, and sales. This integration enables faster access to archived content, whether for handling service requests, responding to audits, or managing litigation.

“SmartHUB expands the Smart Communications value proposition significantly, offering a more complete end-to-end platform for managing the entire customer conversation, from creation and delivery to long-term, compliant storage and retrieval,” said Jim Lundy, Founder and CEO at Aragon Research. “It differentiates Smart Communications in a competitive market by directly addressing a critical pain point for its core customer base.”

The solution includes enterprise-level configuration management and flexible APIs that embed compliance processes into core workflows, reducing delays and miscommunication when responding to customer enquiries or legal matters.

Built for performance, scale, and future AI use cases

SmartHUB is engineered to handle demanding archiving requirements, including ingestion speeds of up to one million documents per hour. As a fully cloud-native solution, it eliminates the need for on-premise infrastructure, enabling scalable access to stored content without downtime.

“SmartHUB was designed to meet the demands of today’s communications landscape—where speed, security, and compliance are non-negotiable,” said Simon Tindal, CTO at Smart Communications. “As AI transforms how archived communications are used—whether for real-time decisioning, self-service, or context-rich customer interactions—SmartHUB ensures that high-volume data is not just stored, but instantly retrievable and audit-ready.”

The platform is already in use across financial services, insurance, telecommunications, and utility sectors. It is particularly suited to organisations with complex compliance obligations, large customer bases, or intensive service operations. As part of the broader Conversation Cloud, SmartHUB integrates seamlessly with SmartCOMM and SmartIQ, creating a unified environment for managing all aspects of customer engagement and document lifecycle.
