Team Cherry confirms more Silksong content without a release date

Team Cherry is working on new Hollow Knight: Silksong content, but no release date has been announced.

Only a small portion of players have fully completed Hollow Knight: Silksong, but Team Cherry has confirmed it is working on new content for the popular side-scrolling game. According to SteamDB, just around 15% of players have earned the 100% completion achievement, leaving the majority of fans still exploring the game’s challenges. While the studio has yet to announce when the update will arrive, it promises fresh material that could be on a similar scale to the Hollow Knight: Godmaster expansion.

Steel Assassin Sharpe could return

Reports suggest the upcoming content may feature Steel Assassin Sharpe, a mysterious character teased years ago but never officially included in the game. In an interview with Bloomberg, Team Cherry co-founder Ari Gibson explained that Sharpe is “waiting in the wings” and expressed excitement about reintroducing the character. When asked whether Sharpe would appear in a future DLC, Gibson said it would “be a good opportunity to uncover more about them,” hinting at potential story or gameplay developments surrounding the enigmatic figure.

Release date remains unknown

Despite confirming that new content is in development, Team Cherry has not provided a release timeline. Co-founder William Pellen told Bloomberg, “We’ll start talking about it more soon, but maybe we won’t mention a timeframe right now.” The comments suggest that while fans can look forward to additional material, they should not expect an imminent update.

Looking beyond the Hollow Knight universe

Beyond Silksong, Team Cherry appears interested in expanding its creative horizons. Both Gibson and Pellen indicated that the studio hopes to develop games outside the Hollow Knight franchise. Although no specific projects were revealed, the co-founders suggested that future titles could explore new worlds and gameplay experiences while retaining the studio’s signature attention to detail and design.

With the new content still in the works, Hollow Knight: Silksong players have plenty of time to continue exploring its intricate world and complete achievements. Meanwhile, anticipation is building around what Team Cherry has planned, both for the beloved Silksong universe and potential new adventures.
