AMD has introduced the Ryzen Embedded 9000 Series, a new line of processors designed to bring higher performance, energy efficiency, and long-term reliability to industrial computing. The series targets use cases such as industrial PCs, automation systems, and machine vision applications, offering the power and adaptability needed in demanding environments.
Enhanced performance for industrial use
Built on AMD’s advanced Zen 5 architecture and a 4nm process, the Ryzen Embedded 9000 Series is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of industrial operations. The processors deliver up to 16 high-performance cores and offer configurable power levels from 65W to 170W. This flexibility allows system designers to optimise for energy savings in control systems or deliver high throughput in machine vision setups.
The new processors include AVX-512 instruction set support, helping to accelerate AI inference and video processing tasks. They are paired with DDR5 memory, PCIe Gen 5 connectivity, and up to 128MB of AMD 3D V-Cache for faster data handling and reduced latency. For systems requiring graphics or visualisation, the integrated AMD RDNA 2 architecture enables cost-effective display and vision capabilities without separate GPUs, lowering both complexity and costs.
