Insta360 unveils Flow 2 Pro gimbal with AI-powered tracking

Insta360 launches the Flow 2 Pro, an upgraded gimbal with AI-powered tracking, Apple DockKit integration, and new creative shooting modes.

Smartphones can already capture stunning videos, but a gimbal can take your content to the next level. Insta360 has introduced the Flow 2 Pro, an upgraded version of its Flow gimbal, packed with advanced AI tracking and improved hardware for even better stabilisation.

Smarter tracking and enhanced framing

The Insta360 Flow 2 Pro features Deep Track 4.0, the company’s latest AI-powered tracking system. This ensures your subject stays focused, even when shooting from a distance. The Active Zoom Tracking feature enhances this by keeping subjects centred even when zooming in up to 15x.

Multi-person tracking ensures that everyone remains in the frame for those filming groups. Insta360 has also integrated Apple DockKit, allowing native subject tracking in the iPhone’s Camera app and third-party apps like BlackMagic.

Content creators will appreciate the built-in selfie mirror, making it easier to frame shots without relying on the phone screen. There’s also a Teleprompter feature, which is helpful for vloggers who need to follow a script. Additionally, the Pro Framing Grid in the Insta360 app helps perfect shot composition by automatically adjusting the subject’s position using AI.

New features and improved design

The Flow 2 Pro is more durable and introduces a Free Tilt mode, unlocking creative shots such as crane and tilt movements. The gimbal also supports 360° Infinite Pan Tracking, allowing seamless, uninterrupted tracking shots.

Another notable upgrade is the ability to control the gimbal remotely via an Apple Watch or a second smartphone, eliminating the need to adjust the gimbal mid-shot manually. However, battery life has slightly decreased, with the 1,100mAh battery now offering 10 hours of use compared to the previous model’s 12 hours.

Availability and pricing

The Insta360 Flow 2 Pro is available for purchase through Lazada, Shopee, and the Insta360 online store, with prices starting at S$229 (or US$159.99) for the standard package, which includes a magnetic phone clamp, charging cable, and protective pouch.
