Cybozu has reported strong momentum for Kintone in the first half of FY2025, with consolidated sales rising to JPY 10.281 billion, a year-on-year increase of 36.4%. The company attributes the performance to broader market adoption across industries in Japan and continued growth in Southeast Asia.
By June 2025, more than 38,000 companies in Japan were using the platform. Uptake among large enterprises continues to strengthen, with 47% of all organisations listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Section now deploying Kintone in at least one department. This marks an increase from 44% at the end of December 2024.
Cybozu noted that its global SaaS metrics remain stable, even after recent pricing revisions. Average Revenue Per Subdomain rose to JPY 44,600, while the churn rate stayed low at 0.92%.
President of Cybozu, Yoshihisa Aono, said the company is focused on expanding Kintone’s presence in the enterprise segment. “We are making meaningful progress in the large enterprise market and are focused on promoting company-wide deployments,” he said. He added that Cybozu has introduced a new structure designed for organisations with 1,000 users or more, offering enhanced governance along with greater app and API limits.
Aono highlighted recent customer success stories. “We are already seeing success, such as at JX Advanced Metals Corporation, where 4,200 employees globally use Kintone to digitise workflows, saving an estimated 6,000 hours annually,” he said.
Global events and regional engagement
To support its expansion, Cybozu held its first Kintone Days Global event across four Asian cities in September. The conference, hosted in Bangkok, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Taipei, brought together more than 1,000 business leaders and IT professionals to explore practical applications of generative AI. The company also showcased the newly launched Kintone AI Lab, positioning it as a tool to increase access to emerging technologies and help close the regional tech talent gap.
The company views these events as a catalyst for broader adoption, especially as more organisations look for accessible digital tools that can be deployed quickly across departments.
Generative AI drives new product innovation
Cybozu is expanding the platform’s capabilities through the Kintone AI Lab, a beta programme offering customers free access to new generative AI features. The company said these tools are aimed at supporting “citizen developers” by allowing employees without technical backgrounds to create applications through natural language interactions.
New releases include AI App Creator, which generates apps based on user-defined requirements, and AI Process Creator, which configures workflows based on conversational prompts. These additions are intended to make application development faster and more accessible across both technical and non-technical teams.
Tsubasa Nakazawa, Managing Director of Kintone Southeast Asia, said the rise of generative AI is reshaping how organisations approach digital transformation. “A new wave of digital transformation is being driven not just by IT departments but by everyday employees,” he said. “Low-code and no-code platforms were the first step. Now, generative AI takes it further, allowing people to simply describe what they want in everyday language, and AI instantly generates functional applications and workflows tailored to their needs.”
