StarHub launches ScamSafe app to block scam calls and messages in Singapore

StarHub launches ScamSafe app in Singapore, offering free six-month protection from scam calls and SMS before paid plans begin.

StarHub has introduced ScamSafe, a mobile app designed to protect users from scam calls and messages, as part of its 25th anniversary milestone. The app, developed in collaboration with Gogolook, aims to make digital safety simple and accessible by proactively blocking scams before they reach users.

Features designed for proactive protection

ScamSafe automatically blocks known scam calls and filters suspicious SMS messages. Users can also customise SMS keyword filters, look up unknown numbers against a frequently updated scam database, and report scams to strengthen community protection.

The app is part of StarHub’s SafeHub+ suite, a growing set of cybersecurity tools intended to provide peace of mind in an increasingly digital world. StarHub explained that ScamSafe is meant to make scam prevention as seamless as possible, whether by helping someone avoid a fraudulent call during a busy day or giving loved ones confidence to use their phones without worry.

Expanding the SafeHub+ ecosystem

ScamSafe marks the latest addition to SafeHub+, which StarHub says will continue to grow through 2025. New tools and services are expected to be introduced throughout the year, building an ecosystem of simple, user-friendly solutions to address evolving online threats.

With Singapore celebrating SG60, StarHub said it hopes ScamSafe will help people feel more secure navigating digital platforms. The company highlighted its broader mission of safeguarding communities while strengthening customer trust.

Free trial and subscription plans

To encourage adoption, ScamSafe will be free for the first six months for all users in Singapore who sign up before 31 December 2025. After the trial period, StarHub customers can subscribe at S$2.99 per month, while non-StarHub users will pay S$4.99 per month. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, with StarHub customers able to subscribe at the exclusive rate through the My StarHub app.
