ASUS IoT unveils RUC-1000 series rugged edge AI computers at Computex 2025

ASUS IoT launches the RUC-1000 series at Computex 2025, a rugged edge AI GPU computer range delivering up to 4000 TOPS for industrial AI.

ASUS IoT has introduced its latest innovation in industrial AI computing with the launch of the RUC-1000 series at Computex 2025. Featuring breakthrough performance, robust design, and advanced security, the new lineup includes the RUC-1000G and RUC-1000D, offering a range of configurations tailored for industrial edge AI applications.

These systems are designed to meet the evolving demands of AI-powered tasks such as machine vision, autonomous vehicles, intelligent video analytics, generative AI, and smart factory automation.

Pushing the limits of edge AI performance

The flagship RUC-1000G is the world’s first 2U 19-inch rugged edge AI GPU computer that supports 600W GPUs via PCIe 5.0, enabling up to 4000 TOPS (tera operations per second) of AI processing power. This performance level is suitable for complex AI training and real-time inference workloads.

It supports the latest Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors and dual DDR5 6400 MHz SO-DIMM slots, with memory capacities of up to 64GB. Its robust thermal design includes an advanced heat dissipation system that separates the GPU from the main system, ensuring stable, non-throttling operation even under extreme temperatures ranging from -25°C to 60°C.

Designed for industrial deployment

The RUC-1000G adopts a standardised 2U 19-inch rack-mount form factor and is compatible with a wide range of industrial setups, including full-rack, half-rack, and various 2U-height configurations. It is also compatible with NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the device offers multiple mounting options, such as wall and desk mounts, for seamless deployment. The ASUS Q-Release Slim design enables tool-free removal of graphics cards, making maintenance easier and reducing mechanical damage risks.

Alongside the RUC-1000G, ASUS IoT also introduced the RUC-1000D, a half-width embedded fanless edge computer. It supports RAID 0/1/5/10 configurations and includes an optional hot-swappable SSD chassis that can hold up to six 2.5-inch SSDs. The RUC-1000D also features broad connectivity with 10GbE LAN, dual 2.5GbE LAN, ten USB ports, and six COM ports.

Built-in cybersecurity and system reliability

Both RUC-1000 models prioritise data protection and operational resilience. They comply with IEC 62443-4-1 cybersecurity standards, helping to guard against cyber threats. Each unit also includes an iBMC module, enabling out-of-band remote monitoring, rapid recovery, and reduced downtime.

To enhance reliability, the RUC-1000G and RUC-1000D are certified to the MIL-STD-810H military standard and support 8–48V DC input with ignition control, making them suitable for use in challenging edge environments.

The RUC-1000D is particularly suited to deployments requiring wider thermal tolerance, as it operates within a range of -25°C to 70°C. Its M.2 slots provide connectivity for NVMe storage, 4G/5G NR, CAN bus, and WiFi 6, allowing it to adapt to a variety of industrial scenarios including smart cities and factory automation.
