ASUS ROG unveils new OLED gaming monitors with tandem technology at Gamescom 2025

ASUS ROG introduces new OLED gaming monitors at Gamescom 2025, featuring Tandem OLED technology, higher brightness, and longer lifespan.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has launched three new OLED gaming monitors at Gamescom 2025, including the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG. Both models feature the company’s latest Tandem OLED technology, which promises 15% higher peak brightness, 25% wider colour volume, and a 60% longer lifespan compared to previous-generation WOLED monitors. The line-up also includes the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2, which introduces further refinements for gamers and creators.

Advancements in display technology

ROG has established itself as the world’s top OLED gaming monitor brand by market share, and the new releases underline its push for innovation. The updated Tandem OLED technology, along with the proprietary TrueBlack Glossy coating, delivers sharper images and deeper blacks. The monitors also come with built-in OLED Care Pro and the advanced Neo Proximity Sensor, which detects user distance to help protect panels from burn-in by dimming or switching to a black image when users step away.

Both the PG27AQWP-W and XG27AQWMG offer a 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time, VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification, and 99.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. These specifications make them suitable not only for competitive gaming but also for content creation and professional visual work.

ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W

The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W is a 26.5-inch QHD monitor that ROG describes as the world’s fastest OLED monitor, thanks to its native 540Hz refresh rate. It supports dual mode operation, giving users the option to switch between QHD at 540Hz or HD at 720Hz. The monitor’s design includes a sturdy silver-finished stand and a half-transparent back panel for a modern aesthetic.

Connectivity options include DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 with 80Gbps bandwidth, HDMI 2.1, and a tripod socket for versatile setups. The monitor supports HDR performance with true 10-bit colour and Delta E<2 colour accuracy. With its Neo Proximity Sensor, the display automatically transitions to a black image when the user steps away, then restores the content upon return. The sensor’s detection distance can be customised for convenience.

ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG

The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG is another 26.5-inch QHD monitor, designed for gamers seeking a balance of performance and compact design. It features a 280Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time, and a stand that is 30% smaller than those of previous 27-inch Strix models. Like the PG27AQWP-W, it includes Tandem OLED technology, HDR 500 True Black certification, and wide colour support.

The XG27AQWMG comes equipped with DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), HDMI 2.1, a USB hub, and a tripod socket for added flexibility. Its Neo Proximity Sensor uses wavelength detection to reduce the risk of panel burn-in by dimming the screen when unattended.

ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2

The third new model, the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2, continues the brand’s push in WOLED monitors. This 26.5-inch QHD display offers a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time, making it a strong contender for fast-paced gaming. It also adopts the TrueBlack Glossy coating for improved visuals and comes with the Neo Proximity Sensor for panel protection.

HDR performance is supported by VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black compliance, 99% DCI-P3 colour coverage, and true 10-bit colour accuracy. The monitor is designed with a compact stand that is 30% smaller than its predecessors and includes connectivity options such as DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), HDMI 2.1, and a USB hub, along with a tripod socket for additional flexibility.

With these new releases, ROG continues to strengthen its position in the competitive gaming monitor market, focusing on performance, longevity, and user-friendly innovations.
