ATPI expands in Asia to support growing business travel demand

ATPI expands in Asia with new offices in India and planned growth in China and South Korea to meet rising regional business travel demand.

ATPI has announced a significant expansion in Asia Pacific as the region continues to lead global corporate travel. Business travel in Asia generated US$506.6 billion in 2024 and is forecast to reach US$851.3 billion by 2033, supported by a 5.64% compounded annual growth rate over the next decade.

To capture this growth, ATPI has opened four new offices in India and is planning further expansion in China and South Korea. The move aims to close a gap faced by regional companies when choosing between local agencies with limited reach or global travel management companies (TMCs) that lack personalised service. ATPI positions itself as a scalable partner, combining international capability with local expertise.

Ali Hussain, Regional Managing Director of ATPI Asia, said, “Asia Pacific’s growth trajectory is growing steadily, accounting for more than 41% of global business travel spend in 2024. This growth trajectory, combined with increasingly sophisticated regional requirements, presents an exceptional opportunity for companies that understand the nuances of rapid expansion in this dynamic market.”

Balancing global reach with local expertise

ATPI already supports leading organisations such as NVIDIA, Lumus Technologies, and BW Group, particularly in sectors where travel is a critical function. Its wholly-owned operations across Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America provide consistency through standardised policies, centralised reporting, and unified duty of care. Local teams add market insights and cultural knowledge, ensuring clients can adapt quickly in new markets.

The company highlights that this approach removes the traditional trade-off between global scale and local expertise. With more than 100 locations worldwide and a supplier network of 500 partners, ATPI offers competitive rates and efficient management of multi-country itineraries. Its presence in key markets enables sector-specific support, such as serving Indonesia’s oil, gas, and mining industries from Balikpapan, and supporting Southern India’s technology sector through new offices in Chennai and Hyderabad.

Technology and continuity for businesses of all sizes

ATPI’s services extend beyond travel booking to technology-driven solutions. Its systems are designed with open architecture, offering customised workflows to match client needs. This flexibility contrasts with one-size-fits-all platforms that may not perform consistently across markets.

Regional service centres in India and the Philippines provide 24/7 support to ensure continuity during disruptions, while integrated booking platforms connect travellers, managers, and policies in a single personalised experience. Its EventsHub platform also manages guest logistics, communications, and real-time tracking for events and corporate travel programmes.

ATPI emphasises that its solutions scale with business growth, whether for startups requiring flexible arrangements or multinational organisations managing complex travel needs. The company positions travel not as a logistical burden but as a strategic enabler of growth.

Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Manchester, the ATPI Group operates in more than 100 locations across six continents and employs around 2,400 people. Its portfolio spans corporate, marine, energy, sports, and event travel.
