CreditAccess Grameen speeds up digital transformation with Mendix low-code platform

CreditAccess Grameen adopts Mendix low-code platform to speed up digital transformation, cut audit time, and improve nationwide operations.

CreditAccess Grameen has partnered with Mendix, a Siemens business, to accelerate its digital transformation journey. By adopting the Mendix low-code platform, the microfinance firm is rapidly modernising its operations, cutting down costs, and boosting efficiency across more than 2,000 branches in India.

Streamlining operations across a nationwide network

CreditAccess Grameen, India’s largest non-banking financial company in the microfinance sector, is rolling out a series of digital tools through the Mendix platform. The initiative was announced on 5 August at Realize LIVE Asia-Pacific 2025 in Bengaluru.

The partnership has already produced tangible results, starting with a customised branch auditing application. Built and deployed in just six months, the cloud-based tool was developed with support from technical partner Mx Omega Technologies. It delivers real-time audit data, which has helped reduce the audit cycle from 45 to 38 days. This has improved decision-making and allowed teams to spend more time on productive, value-adding tasks.

“Through strategic investments in technology, we are building the digital capabilities needed to drive innovation and support sustainable long-term growth,” said Sudesh Puthran, Chief Technology Officer at CreditAccess Grameen. “Mendix has provided us a strong foundation for accelerating our digital transformation journey. As a new-generation low-code platform, it enables us to automate and digitise business processes faster, while fostering seamless collaboration between IT and business teams.”

Supporting growth in India’s evolving financial landscape

India’s financial services sector is rapidly embracing digitalisation, driven by government infrastructure initiatives and financial inclusion schemes. For institutions like CreditAccess Grameen, which serves over 4.5 million customers nationwide, keeping pace with this shift is critical to staying competitive.

Mendix’s low-code platform was selected to help meet these demands, offering speed, scalability, and flexibility in deploying enterprise applications. It also supports collaboration between business and IT teams, enabling the rapid rollout of new tools aligned with evolving operational needs.

“The rapid development and deployment of CA Grameen’s branch auditing application is a powerful testament to the transformative power of low-code in the financial sector,” said Mathew Thomas, Vice President and Managing Director for India, Siemens Digital Industries Software. “In a market as dynamic and competitive as India, the ability to quickly adapt, innovate, and move away from legacy, manual processes is non-negotiable for growth.”

Laying the groundwork for future innovation

Following the success of the auditing solution, CreditAccess Grameen plans to expand its use of the Mendix platform across more core functions. These include customer onboarding, loan management, and field operations, among others.

By continuing to invest in digital solutions, the company aims to create a scalable, agile organisation that leverages technology to empower both people and processes. The collaboration with Mendix demonstrates how low-code tools can be used not just for cost-saving, but also to unlock new growth opportunities and deliver better services to customers.
