Oppo Watch S brings ECG tracking to a slim smartwatch design
Oppo Watch S launches with ECG, a slim design, a bright display, and 10-day battery life, targeting users who want style and health tracking.
Oppo has introduced the Watch S, a new smartwatch that combines health-monitoring features with a slim, lightweight design. The company is positioning the device as a stylish wearable that does not sacrifice comfort or aesthetics for functionality, a common concern with feature-rich smartwatches.

The Watch S aims to appeal to users who want a fashionable accessory that can also deliver detailed health and fitness insights. By reducing the device’s size and weight while integrating multiple sensors, Oppo aims to differentiate the Watch S in a crowded smartwatch market.
Slim design with a bright display
The Oppo Watch S features a stainless steel case and measures just 8.9 mm thick, weighing 35 g. This compact design is intended to make the watch comfortable for all-day wear and suitable for users who prefer a subtle accessory rather than a bulky fitness tracker.
Despite its slim profile, the watch features a 1.46-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. This high brightness level should make the screen easier to read in direct sunlight, which is a common challenge for wearable devices.
The Watch S also supports more than 100 workout modes, covering a wide range of activities. For outdoor tracking, the device includes dual-band GPS, a feature typically found in higher-end smartwatches. This should improve location accuracy during activities such as running or cycling, particularly in urban areas where signal interference can be an issue.
Focus on health monitoring and wellness insights
One of the main selling points of the Oppo Watch S is its array of health sensors packed into a small frame. The device includes an 8-channel heart rate sensor, a 16-channel blood oxygen sensor, a wrist temperature sensor and an ECG-capable electrode heart rate sensor.
Together, these sensors allow the watch to track ECG, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep patterns and stress levels. The data can be shared with healthcare professionals, and the watch can detect signs such as atrial fibrillation and sinus rhythm, which may help users identify potential heart-related issues.
To help users understand the collected data, Oppo has introduced a 60-second Wellness Overview feature. This feature summarises 10 key health indicators into a single assessment, offering guidance that is easy to interpret. The goal is to make health data more accessible to everyday users who may not be familiar with detailed medical metrics.
Battery life, durability and pricing
The Oppo Watch S is powered by a 330 mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to 10 days on a single charge, depending on usage. Longer battery life remains a key factor for smartwatch buyers, and Oppo is targeting users who prefer less frequent charging.
In terms of durability, the watch is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance and also carries a 5ATM water resistance rating. This means it can be used for activities such as swimming or snorkelling, and it should withstand rain and splashes during daily use.
The design includes colour-matched straps that complement the stainless steel case. The Silver Gleam version features a silver case with yellow-green woven nylon straps, while the Phantom Black version comes with a black case and a black fluoroelastomer strap. These options are intended to provide both sporty and understated looks.
The Oppo Watch S is priced from S$249 and comes with a 12-month local warranty. Availability details beyond the initial launch market have not been confirmed. Still, the device is expected to compete with other mid-range smartwatches that offer health monitoring and fitness tracking features.
