ASUS launches ROG Strix GS-BE7200 as its most affordable gaming router
ASUS launches the ROG Strix GS-BE7200, its most affordable gaming router, combining Wi-Fi 7 speeds with a compact design and gaming features.
ASUS has introduced the ROG Strix GS-BE7200, positioning it as the most affordable gaming router in its Republic of Gamers line-up to date. The company is aiming the device at gamers who live alone or in smaller households and want gaming-focused features without investing in a high-end networking setup.

The new router sits below ASUS’s more premium ROG models but still carries the brand’s gaming identity. It is designed to deliver fast wireless performance, low latency, and simplified controls, while keeping the price lower than that of previous ROG gaming routers. On paper, the GS-BE7200 combines Wi-Fi 7 technology with a compact design and a range of software tools focused on online gaming.
ASUS continues to expand its networking portfolio as Wi-Fi 7 gradually becomes more mainstream. By launching a more accessible model under the ROG banner, the company appears to be targeting users who want next-generation wireless standards but do not necessarily need the highest possible speeds or multi-router systems from the outset.
Compact design with Wi-Fi 7 performance
The ROG Strix GS-BE7200 features a white exterior that stands out from the darker designs commonly associated with gaming hardware. Despite carrying several ROG design elements, including a customisable Aura RGB light, the overall appearance is restrained and minimal. The router has no visible external antennas and takes the form of a small, upright unit that can blend into most living spaces.
ASUS has equipped the GS-BE7200 with six internal antennas, which the company claims can provide wireless coverage of up to 2,750 square feet. This makes it suitable for apartments or smaller homes, where a single router is often sufficient. The lack of external antennas also contributes to the cleaner look, which may appeal to users who prefer discreet networking equipment.
In terms of wireless capabilities, the GS-BE7200 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router. It supports speeds of up to 1,376 MBps on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 5,764 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. While it does not include a 6GHz band, the router still offers a significant performance upgrade over older Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5 devices, particularly in environments with multiple connected devices.
The focus on Wi-Fi 7 allows the router to deliver lower latency and more efficient handling of simultaneous connections. This is particularly relevant for gaming households, where online games, video streaming, and smart home devices may all compete for bandwidth simultaneously.
Gaming-focused features and everyday controls
As part of the ROG family, the Strix GS-BE7200 includes several features designed to improve online gaming performance. The router is equipped with two dedicated gaming ports that automatically prioritise gaming traffic, helping to reduce lag during online play. In addition, users can manage gaming settings through the ASUS Router app.
Within the app, players can prioritise traffic for specific games, enable open NAT with a few taps, and create a dedicated SSID for gaming devices. These features are designed to simplify tasks that would otherwise require manual configuration, making the router more accessible to less technical users.
ASUS has also included broader network management tools beyond gaming. The GS-BE7200 allows users to set up separate SSIDs for children, making it easier to manage screen time and internet access. There is also support for dedicated SSIDs for IoT devices, which can help keep smart home products separate from main devices for better security and performance.
The router supports ASUS AiMesh, enabling it to work with other compatible ASUS routers to form a mesh network. This gives users the option to expand coverage in the future without replacing the GS-BE7200. While the router is positioned as a single-unit solution, AiMesh support adds flexibility for households that may later move to larger spaces.
Availability and pricing
ASUS has confirmed that the ROG Strix GS-BE7200 will be available towards the end of March 2026. The router will be priced at S$299, making it the most affordable ROG gaming router the company has released so far.
The pricing positions the GS-BE7200 competitively for gamers who want branded gaming features and Wi-Fi 7 support without paying a premium. While it lacks some of the advanced features found in higher-end ROG routers, it still offers a balance of performance, design and ease of use.
With the launch of the GS-BE7200, ASUS is broadening the appeal of its gaming networking products. By focusing on smaller households and individual gamers, the company is addressing a segment that wants reliable performance and gaming-focused tools without unnecessary complexity or cost.
