Backed by CHANGAN Automobile, DEEPAL used the Motorshow to highlight its broader electric vehicle portfolio, with the flagship S07 also on display. The showcase underscores the brand’s intention to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia, positioning Singapore as a strategic gateway market for premium yet accessible electric mobility.
Since its launch in China in October 2024, the S05 has generated strong consumer demand, recording cumulative sales of more than 60,000 units. The model has also performed well in Thailand, achieving top EV SUV registrations for consecutive months since March 2025. Together with the S07, the S05 supports CHANGAN Automobile’s longer-term ambition of becoming one of the world’s top 10 automotive brands, with a global sales target of five million units by 2030.
Regional performance and Singapore market strategy
From 8 to 11 January, visitors to the Singapore Motorshow at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre are able to view the S05 ahead of its planned sales launch in the first quarter of the year. The model is being showcased in Moonlight White, offering potential buyers an early look at its exterior design and interior layout.
DEEPAL is also inviting interested customers to register their interest at Booth 6113, where early updates on launch timing, model availability, and ongoing promotions are being shared. This approach reflects the brand’s intent to build early engagement ahead of the vehicle’s official market introduction.
The Singapore debut highlights DEEPAL’s broader Southeast Asia strategy, which focuses on expanding its EV portfolio to meet growing demand for compact and mid-sized electric SUVs suited to urban use. According to Jacqueline Tanaga, General Manager of DEEPAL Singapore, the local market plays an important role in the brand’s regional growth plans.
She said the S05 is expected to be a COE Category A electric SUV designed for modern drivers who value smart technology, thoughtful design, and everyday functionality. Together with the award-winning S07, the line-up is intended to reflect DEEPAL’s mission to make high-quality electric mobility intuitive and accessible, while encouraging more drivers to adopt sustainable transport options.
Design, interior technology and space efficiency
Designed for contemporary urban lifestyles, the DEEPAL S05 has received international recognition for its design, including an iF Design Award. Its sleek, aerodynamic exterior has been engineered to navigate narrow city spaces with ease, while still delivering the comfort and practicality required for daily commutes and weekend travel.
The display unit at the Motorshow offers a preview of the vehicle’s sculpted exterior, spacious interior, and intelligent driver-assistance systems. The model has also been recognised by the Torino Automotive Design Award 2025 for Best Human-Centric Intelligent Integration, highlighting its focus on blending advanced technology with functional performance.
Despite its relatively compact footprint, the S05 places strong emphasis on space and versatility. It features a 492-litre rear boot and a 159-litre front trunk, offering flexible storage solutions for everyday use. A 2,880mm wheelbase, described as class-leading within its segment, is designed to enhance comfort and provide generous legroom for second-row passengers.
Inside the cabin, the S05 is centred around an augmented reality head-up display that projects key driving information directly into the driver’s real-world view, improving safety and awareness. A 15.4-inch voice-responsive Sunflower touchscreen anchors the infotainment system, offering intuitive control of in-car functions. For added convenience in dense urban environments, the five-seater SUV is equipped with Remote Straight-In and Out functionality, allowing drivers to manoeuvre the vehicle into or out of tight parking spaces using the key fob.
Motorshow showcase and customer incentives
Alongside the S05, DEEPAL is also showcasing its flagship S07 electric SUV at the Motorshow, displayed in Cosmic Yellow and Sunset Orange. Designed in Italy, the full-sized SUV is positioned as a more performance-oriented offering within the brand’s range. It delivers 160 kW of peak power and 320 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 180 km/h.
Visitors to the DEEPAL booth can explore both models up close, experience their intelligent features, and speak directly with product specialists. Those who register their interest during the event will receive exclusive DEEPAL merchandise, while customers who purchase a DEEPAL vehicle at the Motorshow can enjoy cash savings and rewards worth more than S$5,000, subject to terms and conditions.
The booth experience is supported by Premium Automobiles, DEEPAL’s official distributor in Singapore, which has partnered with Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee to offer freshly brewed coffee on site. Full specifications and pricing for the DEEPAL S05 will be announced at a later date.
