Genshin Impact leak suggests new date for 4.2 livestream

Discover the new speculated date for Genshin Impact's Version 4.2 Special Program livestream, alongside a sneak peek into upcoming game updates and character additions.

Recent leaks surrounding Genshin Impact hint at a fresh date for the much-anticipated Version 4.2 Special Program, now slated to air on November 3. The upcoming update from HoYoverse to its widely cherished RPG is expected to introduce a host of new content, ranging from additional characters to uncharted areas for exploration. It’s already confirmed that characters Furina and Charlotte will grace the playable roster in Version 4.2, alongside an expansion to Fontaine’s map. With the live stream postponed, fans are now gaining clarity on when it might finally take place.

Postponed livestream generates speculation

Initially scheduled for Friday, October 27, HoYoverse announced a delay in airing Genshin Impact’s latest Special Program, albeit without citing a specific reason. Many fans have speculated that the delay might be tied to the passing of a significant public figure in China. Being a China-based developer, HoYoverse has faced previous disruptions, like the COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai, which impacted the typical release cycle for the RPG. Nonetheless, the new teaser suggests that the wait for the rescheduled broadcast may soon be over.

Leak details and future updates

A leak on the Genshin Impact leaks subreddit has shared what’s believed to be the new airing date for the Version 4.2 Special Program — Friday, November 3, starting at 8:00 PM GMT+8, translating to 8:00 AM Eastern Time. This timing hints at the live stream taking place just days ahead of the projected launch of Genshin Impact’s Version 4.2 on November 8. Although HoYoverse hasn’t officially confirmed this date, the community is abuzz with anticipation.

Besides introducing new characters, Version 4.2 is also rumoured to mark the return of several beloved past characters. Subsequent updates, particularly Version 4.3, are speculated to add Navia, marking the first Geo character inclusion in nearly two years, and Chevreuse, a Pyro Polearm user, to the game’s roster. These additions, alongside new areas to explore, ensure Genshin Impact enthusiasts have a wealth of content to look forward to in the forthcoming updates.
