GFTN unveils ALFIN, an AI-driven research engine for global finance

[output_post_excerpt]

The Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) has announced the beta launch of ALFIN, an AI research intelligence platform built specifically for the financial industry. Introduced at the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) 2025, ALFIN aims to redefine how data is analysed, interpreted, and applied across finance by emphasising transparency, verifiability, and human-AI collaboration.

The platform arrives amid growing demand for explainable and trustworthy AI solutions in financial services. Designed to bridge the gap between innovation and regulation, ALFIN provides users with verifiable, analyst-grade intelligence that helps financial institutions, investors, and regulators make data-driven decisions with greater confidence.

Sopnendu Mohanty, Group Chief Executive Officer of GFTN, said the platform addresses a longstanding issue in finance—how to turn fragmented information into meaningful insight. “The current financial ecosystem is inundated with vast amounts of data but struggles with organising intelligence, distinguishing meaningful signals from noise, and providing policymakers with real-time, contextual insights that link innovation to regulation,” he said. “ALFIN is designed to analyse information and enhance decision-making by merging human expertise with machine intelligence to meet the dynamic demands of global finance. ALFIN empowers every financial stakeholder to transition from raw information to clear insights, and from insights to well-informed, data-driven actions.”

Transforming financial data into actionable intelligence

Built for financial institutions, analysts, and policymakers, ALFIN turns complex market data into actionable intelligence. It combines three validated data layers: GFTN’s proprietary insights from global innovators, investors, and regulators; trusted public data from financial and regulatory sources; and user-provided inputs that offer real-world context. This integration allows users to access transparent and explainable intelligence in seconds.

According to Madhuvarshitt Yerramilli Subramanya, Director of Engineering at GFTN, the platform’s strength lies in its blend of AI and human expertise. “ALFIN is a verifiable AI Subject Matter Expertise engine, built on expert-reviewed and graded inputs,” he said. “By combining human expertise with rigorous data validation, ALFIN reduces hallucinations, builds trust, and delivers reliable, decision-ready insights. Every output is transparent and cited, empowering users to understand not just what is happening in finance, but why it matters and how it will evolve.”

The system is expected to serve a range of users—from strategy and risk teams seeking better investment and compliance insights to policymakers tracking financial innovation globally. Its architecture also supports FinTech leaders in understanding regulatory trends and competitive dynamics in real time.

A decade of ecosystem insight behind ALFIN’s creation

ALFIN’s launch represents more than a technological milestone. It is built on over ten years of research, collaboration, and knowledge sharing from GFTN’s FinTech forums across Asia, Africa, and Europe. Formerly known as Elevandi, GFTN has drawn on contributions from policymakers, innovators, and investors who have helped shape the global digital finance landscape. This accumulated intelligence now forms the foundation of ALFIN’s adaptive engine.

“ALFIN represents the next evolution of intelligence infrastructure for finance,” said Mohanty. “It brings transparency and contextual understanding to a field long dominated by black-box systems. By integrating verified insights from GFTN’s global network spanning more than 130 countries, alongside a decade of proprietary intelligence from its flagship platforms including the Singapore FinTech Festival, ALFIN channels the collective wisdom of the global financial community into one intelligent system.”

The beta version of ALFIN will be available to select users following its debut at SFF 2025, with general access planned for early 2026 as part of GFTN’s broader digital platform expansion.

Founded in 2024 by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, GFTN operates as a not-for-profit organisation bridging policy, capital, and technology to build resilient and inclusive financial systems. Its commercial arms include GFTN Services—which runs international forums such as the Singapore FinTech Festival and offers advisory and capacity-building support—and GFTN Capital, a venture capital unit investing in growth-stage FinTechs with social impact.
