Google introduces nine AI-powered features with Pixel 10 series

Google’s Pixel 10 series debuts with nine AI-powered features, from real-time translations to creative tools and wellbeing support.

Google has launched the Pixel 10 series, its latest line of smartphones powered by the new Tensor G5 chip. The devices showcase a range of artificial intelligence features designed to simplify everyday tasks, enhance creativity, and support personal wellbeing.

Smarter performance with Tensor G5

At the core of the Pixel 10 series is the Google Tensor G5, the company’s most advanced chip to date. Co-designed with the DeepMind team, it is the first to run the new Gemini Nano model directly on the device. This allows complex generative AI tasks, such as real-time translations and image creation, to operate smoothly without relying on cloud processing.

The Tensor G5 is available across the entire Pixel 10 range, while buyers of the Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold will also receive a year’s free access to Google AI Pro. This service unlocks tools such as Imagen 4 for image generation and Veo 3 for video creation, giving users advanced creative capabilities.

Helpful tools for daily use

Among the most notable new features is Magic Cue, which connects apps such as Gmail, Calendar, and Messages to proactively suggest actions. For example, if someone asks when a flight is arriving, Magic Cue can pull the details from the itinerary and prompt the user to share the information instantly. It can also surface relevant content when making phone calls or replying to messages, always keeping privacy controls in the user’s hands.

Voice Translate is another key update, providing real-time translation during phone calls in each speaker’s own voice. The feature currently supports English and ten other languages, including Spanish, Japanese, French, and Indonesian.

The Pixel 10 series also introduces Take a Message, which provides live transcripts of missed or declined calls in the Phone app. It uses AI to highlight next steps based on the content of the message, building on the popular Call Screen feature.

Gemini Live, which debuted with Pixel 9, has also been upgraded. It now integrates more deeply with Google apps and can provide visual guidance by overlaying information directly on the phone’s display when using the camera.

Features for creativity and wellbeing

The Pixel 10 series brings improvements in creativity and self-care through several AI-driven apps. NotebookLM is now linked with Pixel Screenshots and Recorder, making it easier to save visual references and transcripts for research or organisation.

Pixel Journal offers a secure space for users to track goals and reflect on personal growth. The app uses AI-generated prompts to encourage writing and insights, with all data stored privately on the device.

In addition, Gboard has been enhanced with Writing Tools that not only correct grammar and spelling but also rephrase texts to sound more professional or casual, depending on the user’s preference. Voice commands can also be used to rewrite messages.

For those who enjoy experimenting with music, the Recorder app now allows users to turn their vocal recordings into songs. By selecting a musical style, simple recordings can be transformed into unique tracks.

The Pixel 10 series continues Google’s approach of combining powerful hardware with AI innovation, offering practical tools that aim to make daily tasks more efficient and personal expression more accessible.
