Kahoot! launches AI-powered study tools for students in Singapore

Kahoot! introduces AI-powered study tools in Singapore, offering offline study, exam prep, and motivational features for students.

Kahoot! has introduced a set of new AI-driven study tools designed to help students improve their learning experience as the new school year begins. The global learning and engagement platform announced that the features are available in Singapore, offering free and premium options to support students in preparing for exams and managing study routines more effectively.

The new toolkit allows students to create personalised study sessions by transforming handwritten notes, documents, web pages, Wikipedia articles, or even simple topics into interactive content. Using Kahoot!’s AI Generator, learners can generate quizzes, practice tests, vocabulary reviews, and micro lessons. A “Question extractor” tool can convert exams and tests into Kahoot! quiz questions, while the “Step-by-step solver” provides detailed breakdowns of complex problems, guiding students through the solution process.

Offline study options for flexibility

Recognising that students often need to study on the go, Kahoot! has rolled out free offline study features. Students can now create interactive sessions and continue learning without an internet connection. With iOS 26, Apple device users can take advantage of Quiz Starter, an on-device AI tool powered by Apple’s Foundation Models, to instantly generate quizzes by scanning notes or other study materials. These sessions can be played offline, enabling learners to study anywhere at any time with greater privacy.

Tools to improve exam readiness and motivation

To address exam stress and preparation, Kahoot! has introduced a Test Mode feature, available with a Kahoot!+ Gold subscription. The mode replicates the exam experience by withholding answers until the end of a session. Students then receive a detailed summary including scores, correct answer rates, completion times, and the option to revisit incorrect answers. Independent studies suggest that using Kahoot! can improve exam results by an average of one full grade, underlining the value of effective preparation.

Kahoot! has also added motivational features such as study buddies and achievement streaks. Study buddies act as virtual companions, offering encouragement during study sessions. A free version is available, with additional characters accessible through a subscription. Daily and weekly streak achievements help students track their progress through unique icons, animations, and milestone levels. These features are designed to keep learners motivated and build long-term study habits.

Collaborative study through groups and accuracy mode

Beyond individual learning, the platform has enhanced opportunities for collaboration. Students can form study groups within the Kahoot! app or web platform, allowing them to review material together, practise key concepts, and compete for top scores on leaderboards. A new Accuracy Mode has also been introduced, placing emphasis on correct answers rather than speed. Each participant is given the same amount of time to answer, ensuring a more inclusive and thoughtful approach to studying.

Alex Remen, Vice President of Product at Kahoot!, said: “At Kahoot!, we want all students to have the tools to start their new classes with confidence and achieve academic success. With our new lineup of AI-powered study features, we’re combining the exciting capabilities of generative AI with the engaging experience of Kahoot! that millions of students worldwide love. These new features offer students a more flexible, personalised, and impactful self-study experience, supporting students throughout the learning process from mastering new concepts to acing their tests.”
