OPPO partners with football prodigy Lamine Yamal as global ambassador

OPPO announces Lamine Yamal as global ambassador, combining football and technology to inspire young people through the "Make Your Moment" campaign.

OPPO has announced Spanish football sensation Lamine Yamal as its global brand ambassador. At just 17 years old, Yamal will play a key role in OPPO’s “Make Your Moment” campaign, which aims to inspire young people worldwide to pursue their passions and create extraordinary futures.

Yamal represents OPPO’s vision

Billy Zhang, OPPO’s President of Overseas Marketing, Sales, and Services, praised Yamal’s inspiring qualities. He said Lamine is not only a gifted footballer but also an inspirational young man with incredible passion for the game. Zhang added that, like countless young people worldwide, Yamal does not allow anxiety or uncertainty about the future to hold him back. Instead, he focuses on his passions and dedicates his energy to the present, finding fulfilment and strength through his commitment.

Since his international debut in 2023, Yamal has captivated fans with his skills and maturity. Despite his fame and demanding schedule, he has remained committed to his education and grounded in his approach to life. Reflecting on his journey, Yamal shared his personal philosophy, saying the best way to handle everything is to focus on the work at hand and stay present.

After recovering from a recent injury, Yamal returned to the game with a disciplined training routine and a renewed perspective, demonstrating the mindfulness and responsibility that align perfectly with OPPO’s ethos.

Combining football, technology, and community

OPPO has been active in the sports world since 2015, including its partnership with the UEFA Champions League. The brand leverages its innovative AI and imaging technologies to create unique experiences for fans. Its collaboration with Yamal strengthens this connection with younger generations and reinforces its message of seizing opportunities in the present.

Yamal’s influence extends beyond football. His signature “304” hand gesture, honouring the postcode of his hometown Rocafonda, has become a symbol of pride and inspiration for young athletes. As OPPO’s ambassador, Yamal will lead football-focused community initiatives, including facility upgrades and programmes encouraging youth to propose creative ideas for charity projects. These efforts aim to inspire innovation and energy in grassroots football.

Yamal’s stunning visuals will also feature on OPPO’s AI Studio platform, giving fans the chance to “team up” with the star virtually and experience the excitement of the game through cutting-edge technology.

A global campaign with growing success

The partnership with Yamal comes as OPPO continues its global expansion. Operating in over 70 countries and regions, with more than 300,000 retail outlets, the brand attributes 60% of its shipments to international markets. Its Find X8 series, celebrated for its outstanding camera performance, gaming capabilities, and battery life, has contributed to this success.

Through its involvement in football and its collaboration with Yamal, OPPO bridges the gap between technology and sports. This partnership exemplifies OPPO’s commitment to empowering young people to embrace every moment, achieve their dreams, and leave their mark on the world.
