OtterHalf marks second anniversary with The Otter Awards to honour impactful local businesses

OtterHalf celebrates its second anniversary with The Otter Awards, honouring local businesses for collaboration, sustainability, and innovation.

Singapore’s leading fractional marketing agency, OtterHalf, is celebrating its second anniversary with The Otter Awards, a digital campaign recognising outstanding local brands that embody collaboration, empathy, sustainability, and innovation. The awards, infused with a playful marine theme, reflect OtterHalf’s commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships while acknowledging businesses that make a difference.

The Otter Awards features five unique categories, each linked to an aquatic creature that represents a key value:

  • The Otter (Business of the Year) – Honouring a business that thrives on teamwork, empathy, social impact, and innovation, much like the resourceful and community-driven otter.
  • The Salmon (Most Collaborative Business) – Awarding companies that excel in teamwork and cooperation, inspired by salmon’s synchronised swimming patterns.
  • The Manatee (Most Sustainable Business) – Recognising businesses dedicated to sustainability, mirroring the manatee’s role in maintaining aquatic ecosystems.
  • The Beaver (Most Helpful Business) – Celebrating businesses that go the extra mile for their customers and communities, similar to beavers, who build and sustain ecosystems.
  • The Dolphin (Most Innovative Business) – Acknowledging businesses that lead with creativity and problem-solving, akin to the intelligent and adaptable dolphin.

A campaign that goes beyond business success

Cassandra Ong, founder and CEO of OtterHalf, shared how The Otter Awards evolved from a simple birthday celebration into a platform that spotlights exceptional brands.

“The Otter Awards started as a fun way to celebrate our birthday, but it quickly became something bigger — a way to spotlight the incredible brands we’ve worked with and the values they represent. We believe great businesses aren’t just about profits; they are about being stronger together, sustaining momentum, and being a force for good—without any fishy business. So, with The Otter Awards, this is our way of saying thank you to our partners who embody one or more of these values and giving them the recognition they deserve.”

The nominees have been selected through an internal voting process and consist of locally founded brands that have worked with OtterHalf. Public voting opens on 17 March 2025 via a Google Form available on the official awards website (https://www.otterhalf.co/otter-awards). Voters will include a mix of business leaders, marketing professionals, industry supporters, and general fans.

Jasper Chen, chief technology Oofficer at FortyTwo, expressed his excitement over Haylee, one of the company’s sub-brands, being nominated for The Salmon category.

“We’ve just started our engagement with OtterHalf as our dedicated fractional marketing team last year and to receive this nomination truly makes our brand feel seen – especially for The Salmon category. It is a breath of fresh air to have our work recognised not just for our performance or profits, but for the deeper reasons behind what we do every day at Haylee.”

Winners to gain visibility and industry recognition

The winners, to be announced on 14 April 2025, will receive special recognition and additional exposure through Google and META advertisements promoting their achievements. This aligns with OtterHalf’s mission to support businesses beyond their core services by amplifying their impact in the industry.

Founded during a wave of tech layoffs, OtterHalf has grown into a leading fractional marketing agency, offering businesses experienced marketing teams on a part-time basis without the expense of a full-time hire. Their tailored approach integrates seamlessly into clients’ operations, providing strategic guidance, creative services, and full-scale marketing execution.

As OtterHalf marks this milestone, The Otter Awards stands as a testament to its vision of fostering strong partnerships and celebrating businesses that are making waves in their industries.
