Razer quietly resumes laptop sales after a sudden pause in the US

Razer resumes some US laptop sales after a sudden halt, with limited models available and no explanation from the company.

After a quiet and unexpected halt, Razer has started selling its laptops again in the United States. If you’ve been watching the tech world, you might have noticed that Razer’s popular Blade laptops were briefly pulled from its official US website, leaving many potential buyers confused and concerned.

Sales paused without warning

The sudden removal of Razer’s laptops from its US store happened without any official explanation. This included the new Blade 16 models with Nvidia’s 50-series graphics cards. While Razer’s Canadian website operated normally, US customers could not buy directly from Razer for more than a week.

During this time, people on Reddit started discussing delays in Blade 16 pre-orders, some even suggesting that US Customs was holding shipments. Now, it looks like Razer is slowly bringing some of its laptops back to its American store, but not everything has returned.

Limited models back on sale

If you head to Razer’s US website now, you’ll see that some versions of the 2025 Blade 16 are available for purchase again. But it’s not the full lineup. You can only buy the model that comes with the Nvidia RTX 5080 graphics card. The other options – the lower-end RTX 5070 Ti and the top-tier RTX 5090 – are listed, but you can’t buy them yet. Instead, you’ll find “notify me” buttons, meaning they might return soon but aren’t available now.

Another strange detail is the RTX 5090 model that is listed. It has 64GB of RAM and 4TB storage for US$4,899.99. That’s a very powerful setup, but the version Razer previously sent out for review had 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage and was priced at US$4,499.99. That more affordable configuration is nowhere to be found now, which might disappoint some customers hoping for a cheaper option.

Before the pause, you could still buy the 2024 Blade 16 and pre-order the Blade 18. However, those options are no longer available in the US store.

Canadian site shows more options

While the US store still lacks some products, the Canadian Razer site shows a more complete picture. There, you can still find the review version of the Blade 16 with the RTX 5090 and smaller specs. You can also pre-order the Blade 18, and the new Razer Adjustable Laptop Stand is listed at US$99.99.

That standstill does not have pricing on the US website, adding to the confusion.

It’s not clear what exactly caused the pause in US sales. Some have speculated it might be related to tariff or import issues, but Razer hasn’t made any official statements. The company has also not responded to questions from media outlets seeking clarification.

If you’re in the US and waiting to buy a new Blade laptop, watching Razer’s site is best. With some models slowly returning, there’s hope that the full lineup will be available again soon.
