Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro AI model is now available for all users

Google's Gemini 2.5 Pro AI model is now available for all users, offering advanced coding and reasoning abilities with a free trial for Gemini Advanced.

Google has released its latest AI model, Gemini 2.5 Pro, making it available for all users. The model is currently experimental and can be accessed via the web at Gemini.Google.com. While Google is working on bringing it to mobile apps soon, it remains a web-only experience.

Free users face usage limits

Before diving in, you should know that free users have stricter limits on how many queries they can make. Some requests, such as comparing the cost of living across European Union nations, may quickly exhaust your available queries. For the best experience, Google recommends subscribing to Gemini Advanced, which offers higher usage limits and additional features.

Gemini 2.5 Pro is the most advanced version of the AI model so far, with major improvements in coding, maths, and science-related tasks. Like previous Pro models, it can display its thought process as it works through queries, giving users more insight into how it generates responses.

Google promises enhanced performance

In a blog post, Google highlighted the improvements made with this version. “With Gemini 2.5, we’ve achieved a new level of performance by combining a significantly enhanced base model with improved post-training. In the future, we’re building these thinking capabilities directly into our models so they can handle more complex problems and support even more capable, context-aware agents.”

The model outperforms competitors in several key areas, particularly in code editing. In the Aider Polyglot test, Gemini 2.5 Pro scored 74%, significantly ahead of the next-highest competitor, Claude 3.7, which scored 64.9%. Additionally, its ability to process and understand long-context queries is superior to OpenAI’s models.

Enterprise pricing is coming soon

Google has also announced plans to introduce enterprise-level pricing for Gemini 2.5 Pro in the coming weeks. This will cater to businesses and professionals who need higher usage limits and more advanced features.

If you want to try Gemini Advanced, you can sign up for a one-month free trial before committing to a monthly subscription.
