Razer’s new Blade 14 is thinner, lighter, and packed with full RTX 5070 power

Razer’s new Blade 14 is thinner and lighter, with full RTX 5070 power and a stunning OLED display. It starts at US$2,299.99.

If you’re looking for a thin and powerful gaming laptop, Razer has just updated its Blade 14 with a sleek design and strong performance. The 2025 version of the Blade 14 is now 11% thinner and lighter than the previous model, making it even easier to carry without sacrificing performance. Despite its slimmer build, Razer promises the full power of Nvidia’s RTX 5070 GPU in this compact machine.

Thinner design with full performance

Razer has managed to reduce the thickness of the Blade 14 to between 0.62 and 0.64 inches (15.7 mm to 16.2 mm), and its weight now sits at 3.59 pounds (1.63 kg). This was achieved by redesigning the thermal and cooling system, similar to the recent update of the Blade 16. Even with these changes, Razer says you’ll still get the same 72Whr battery for solid usage on the go.

The company offers two GPU options for the new Blade 14: the RTX 4060 and the more powerful RTX 4070. The base model with the RTX 4060 is priced at US$2,299.99, while the version with the RTX 4070 is set at US$2,699.99. Unlike other thin laptops, Razer claims the Blade 14 with RTX 4070 will deliver its full 115W of total graphics power (TGP), giving you uncompromised performance whether you’re gaming or creating content.

Updated specs and display options

All Blade 14 configurations come with AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 9 365 processor, which offers strong performance and new AI-focused features. You’ll also get a sharp 14-inch 3K OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, great for both gameplay and visual work.

The laptop can be configured with up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. However, the RAM is soldered to the motherboard, so it can’t be upgraded later. On the other hand, the SSD can be swapped out through the user-accessible NVMe slot if you need more storage.

Razer has kept ports mostly the same as the previous generation. You’ll get two USB4 ports, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Razer’s custom reversible charging port. New for this year is a UHS-II microSD card slot, which is a small change from the full-size SD card slot on the Blade 16 but still useful for creators.

Launch and colour choices

Both versions of the Blade 14, with either the RTX 4060 or RTX 4070, are expected to launch sometime in May. Razer is also introducing a more affordable Blade 16 model with the RTX 4060, priced at US$2,399.99, set to arrive this month.

The Blade 14 will be available in two colours: Razer’s signature matte black and a new white finish, giving you more style choices. The overall look of the Blade 14 mirrors the design changes seen in the Blade 16, just in a slightly smaller size.

Razer continues to offer serious competition to other premium gaming laptops like Asus’ ROG Zephyrus G14. If you want something powerful, portable, and stylish, the Blade 14 might fit.
