Samsung debuts a 130-inch Micro RGB TV at CES 2026, combining next-gen colour, AI features, and a new Timeless Frame design.
Samsung Electronics has introduced what it describes as its most advanced consumer television to date, unveiling a 130-inch Micro RGB TV at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The display is positioned as a major step forward for ultra-premium home entertainment, combining sheer scale with a host of new image technologies designed to enhance colour accuracy, brightness, and realism. Samsung aims to bridge the gap between professional-grade visual standards and the living room, offering cinema-level performance in a consumer product format.
At the core of the new model is Micro RGB technology, a development of LED display engineering that moves beyond conventional backlit LCD panels. Instead, it uses microscopic red, green, and blue LEDs arranged in precise formations to deliver finer light control and significantly richer colour reproduction. Samsung states that the television reaches 100 per cent of the BT.2020 wide colour gamut, aligning it more closely with professional cinema benchmarks than typical consumer televisions. The set is supported by a processing system comprising Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, Micro RGB Colour Booster Pro, and Micro RGB HDR Pro, all designed to refine contrast, enhance detail, and maintain clarity across bright and dark scenes.
In addition to colour performance, Samsung has focused on real-world viewing conditions. The TV incorporates the company’s Glare Free technology, which helps reduce reflections and maintain strong visibility even in well-lit rooms. The panel supports HDR10+ Advanced, Samsung’s next iteration of its HDR standard, intended to optimise scene-by-scene brightness and tone mapping. According to the company, viewers should expect deeper blacks, controlled highlights and more natural gradation, making it suitable for films, sports, and high-detail content.
Design and smart features
Beyond technical specifications, Samsung has given particular attention to industrial design. The 130-inch model debuts the company’s Timeless Frame, a refined, minimalist border inspired by architectural window design. Rather than appearing as a large electronic appliance, the set is intended to resemble an expansive viewing portal that integrates with interior spaces. Samsung suggests this approach allows the television to visually extend a room rather than overpower it, reinforcing its positioning as both a technological product and a decorative showpiece.
Sound has also been built into the experience. The TV features integrated Eclipsa Audio, designed to deliver spatial sound that matches the screen’s scale without an external audio system. This is particularly important for a display of this size, where immersive sound is a key component of the overall home theatre effect. The idea is to balance the screen’s grand visual presence with audio that fills larger rooms convincingly.
On the software side, Samsung continues to push AI-driven features across its premium TV range, and this flagship model follows suit. The Vision AI Companion interface brings conversational smart controls and supports interactive applications, while Microsoft Copilot integration introduces expanded productivity and assistance features directly on the television platform. New viewing enhancements, such as AI Football Mode Pro and AI Sound Controller Pro, automatically analyse content and optimise settings to deliver tailored performance for everything from live sport to streaming films.
Market positioning and availability
The 130-inch Micro RGB TV is firmly positioned at the upper end of Samsung’s product strategy, aimed at homeowners who demand cinematic scale and top-tier performance in their personal entertainment spaces. It is expected to appeal to users with large living areas or dedicated media rooms who prefer a television-based solution over a traditional projector set-up. For this audience, the combination of advanced colour fidelity, strong brightness, large-format immersion and enhanced AI functionality may provide a compelling alternative to existing home cinema technologies.
Samsung acknowledges that a display of this size will inevitably sit within the premium category, both in terms of technology and expected pricing.
