Spotify Wrapped 2024 introduces AI-generated podcast for your listening recap

[output_post_excerpt]

Spotify Wrapped 2024 has arrived, offering exciting new ways to relive your year in music and podcasts. Among the updates, Spotify has introduced an innovative feature that creates an AI-generated podcast summarising your listening habits from 2024. This interactive addition makes your music journey even more engaging and personal.

Explore your listening habits with an AI podcast

One of the standout features this year is the AI-generated podcast. Using Google’s NotebookLM technology, Spotify lets you listen to two AI hosts discuss your top songs, artists, and genres of the year. The podcast provides a unique, tailored recap of your music preferences, making it an entertaining way to reflect on your 2024 listening journey.

This feature is available in English for free and Premium users across the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, and Sweden. Molly Holder, Spotify’s senior director of product for personalisation, highlighted the collaboration with Google: “We love audio, we love podcasts, and we’re always looking to connect with our users in meaningful ways. This partnership with Google offers an exciting integration for our platform.”

Track your music evolution throughout the year

Spotify Wrapped now includes a “music evolution” feature, which tracks how your taste changed month by month. You’ll receive up to three musical phrases for each month, such as “heatwave,” “beach,” or “reggaeton.” Alongside this, Spotify will generate a personalised “music evolution” playlist. This playlist combines your favourite songs from the past year with new tracks tailored to your evolving taste.

For Premium users, Spotify’s AI DJ is also back, offering prompts like “Create a playlist of songs that represent my music journey over the year.” This tool gives you another way to relive the highs of your 2024 music experience.

Enhanced sharing and deeper insights

With updated sharing options, Spotify has made it easier to share your music and podcast highlights. Now, the “share” button identifies whether a track, artist, or podcast is among your top 100 songs, top 20 artists, or top five podcasts.

Additionally, Wrapped now highlights your longest listening streaks for your top five artists, providing another fun insight into your music habits.

While Spotify Wrapped remains a yearly highlight for many, competitors like Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music released their personalised recaps earlier this year. Despite this, Spotify Wrapped continues to dominate discussions and remains the most eagerly anticipated recap of the year.

With these exciting features, Spotify Wrapped 2024 offers a rich, interactive way to explore and celebrate your music journey. Whether it’s listening to an AI podcast about your top tracks or discovering how your tastes evolved, this year’s Wrapped is packed with innovations to make your recap more personal and engaging than ever.
