ASUS launches RT-BE88U WiFi 7 router with advanced dual-band performance

ASUS RT-BE88U WiFi 7 router launches with up to 34 Gbps wired capacity, dual-band WiFi, advanced security, and flexible VPN support for seamless networking.

ASUS has introduced the RT-BE88U, a high-performance WiFi 7 dual-band router designed to deliver rapid internet speeds and exceptional network flexibility. With a combined wired network capacity of up to 34 Gbps, the RT-BE88U is built to meet future connectivity demands, offering features that ensure seamless gaming, media streaming, and efficient data transfers. Available in Singapore, the RT-BE88U is priced at S$629.

Next-generation WiFi 7 for faster, seamless connections

The ASUS RT-BE88U leverages WiFi 7’s advanced capabilities, including 4K-QAM for enhanced data rates and dual-band Multi-Link Operation (MLO). The 4K-QAM technology allows the router to pack data signals more densely, increasing bandwidth efficiency and providing speeds up to 20% faster than those achievable with WiFi 6. Through dual-band MLO, devices can connect to both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks simultaneously, improving throughput and reducing latency. This future-proofs the network, enabling it to support an increasing number of devices without sacrificing performance.

Supporting speeds of up to 7200 Mbps on WiFi 7, the RT-BE88U is ideal for homes needing fast, reliable wireless connectivity for a range of devices, from streaming platforms to gaming consoles. The router’s powerful architecture makes it well-suited for both current and future internet requirements, catering to users’ demands for fast, high-capacity connections.

Exceptional wired network capabilities

The ASUS RT-BE88U provides up to 34 Gbps of total wired network capacity through a range of advanced Ethernet ports. It includes a 10 Gbps LAN/WAN port, a 10 Gbps LAN/WAN SFP+ port, and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports, offering flexibility for both residential and small business setups. This configuration supports up to nine LAN ports, depending on setup, with automatic WAN detection. Users benefit from the stability and low latency of wired connections, ideal for applications like NAS and media servers that need consistent, high-speed access throughout a home or office.

For creatives handling large files, such as 4K or 8K video files on local servers, the router’s impressive bandwidth and Ethernet speed facilitate smooth transfers and streaming. The 10 Gbps SFP+ port also provides versatile connectivity options for linking to different network infrastructures, giving users flexibility in their setup.

Comprehensive network security and flexibility features

Designed for a premium user experience, the ASUS RT-BE88U integrates a variety of network management and security tools. It includes AiProtection Pro, powered by Trend Micro, which protects against cyber threats like phishing, ransomware, and webcam hacking. With Guest Network Pro, users can easily segment their network, creating separate sections for IoT devices, VPNs, and child-safe browsing. The RT-BE88U also supports VLANs, enabling users to organise devices into virtual groups and manage access with customised security rules.

The router also offers advanced VPN support through WireGuard, providing secure site-to-site connectivity. For added flexibility, users can tether their network to a 4G or 5G mobile data connection through the USB 3.0 port if the primary WAN connection is unavailable. ASUS AiMesh technology is also built into the RT-BE88U, making it easy to expand WiFi coverage by allowing it to connect seamlessly with other ASUS AiMesh-enabled routers.

With these built-in features, the RT-BE88U is crafted to meet the needs of users seeking high performance, strong security, and the flexibility to customise their network for different requirements.
