The original Casiotron, a trailblazer in its time, introduced the automatic calendar feature – a novel concept back then. It eliminated the need for manual adjustments at the start of each month, excluding leap years. This might seem commonplace now, but it was a significant innovation in the world of watches during that era.

The new Casiotron TRN-50 takes this legacy forward with its advanced functionalities. Apart from the automatic date feature, the watch boasts chronograph capabilities, daily alarms, and a solar-powered system. Additionally, it incorporates Casio Multiband 6 technology, enabling it to receive atomic time signals from six stations worldwide.

For those who seek precision, the watch offers Bluetooth connectivity. The Casio Watches app can sync to atomic time up to four times a day. The time is displayed on a super-twisted nematic LCD, and the Super Illuminator backlight ensures clear visibility in low-light conditions. Like its predecessor, the Casiotron TRN-50 features a screw-lock caseback adorned with a unique logo for Casio’s 50th anniversary and engraved serial numbers, marking its status as a limited edition collectable – with only 4,000 pieces available.

Priced at S$699, the Casio 50th anniversary TRN-50 will be available on Casio’s official website for pre-order on February 28, 2024.
