Informatica deepens partnership with Databricks to support new Iceberg and OLTP services

Informatica joins Databricks as launch partner for new Iceberg and OLTP solutions, introducing AI tools to speed up GenAI development.

Informatica has expanded its partnership with Databricks, becoming a launch partner for two major platform innovations—Managed Iceberg Tables and the Databricks Lakebase database—unveiled at the 2025 Data + AI Summit. The announcement includes new GenAI integrations to accelerate AI application development using Databricks Mosaic AI.

Supporting next-generation data formats and databases

As a launch partner for Databricks’ Managed Iceberg Tables, Informatica will enable enterprise customers to ingest, cleanse, govern, and transform data in Iceberg format at scale. This integration supports seamless conversion of existing data to the Iceberg open table format while maintaining compatibility with high-performance analytics and AI workloads within the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

Informatica has also been named a launch partner for Databricks Lakebase, a newly introduced fully managed, Postgres-compatible online transaction processing (OLTP) database. Lakebase is designed to support high-volume transactional workloads. Informatica facilitates data loading and transformation from over 300 enterprise sources into the Lakebase PostgreSQL service, broadening the scope of data-driven applications within Databricks.

This alignment allows customers to unify transactional, analytical, and AI workloads through consistent data governance and management, building on Informatica’s strengths in no-code integration and data quality tools.

Enabling AI development with Mosaic AI and GenAI tools

Informatica also announced new integrations with Databricks Mosaic AI, a suite of AI tools designed to help enterprises develop and deploy AI agent systems. These include no-code connectors through Informatica’s Cloud Application Integration (CAI) platform and pre-configured “GenAI Recipes” to simplify the development of generative AI applications.

The new connectors enable enterprise developers to quickly integrate data from across the organisation with Mosaic AI, while the GenAI Recipes offer pre-built templates that reduce development time for AI-powered use cases.

These enhancements are aimed at speeding up adoption of GenAI across enterprise environments and further embedding Informatica’s tools into the AI development lifecycle on Databricks.

Expanded data volume support for Databricks customers

To support the growing demands of Databricks users, Informatica has also introduced extended volume support for its Cloud Data Integration (CDI) and Cloud Data Ingestion and Replication (CDIR) offerings. These updates allow users to handle non-tabular data types more efficiently within Unity Catalog, reinforcing Informatica’s position as a leader in governed, no-code data integration.

Roger Murff, Vice President of Technology Partners at Databricks, said, “As a launch partner for our Managed Iceberg Tables and Lakebase, Informatica is committed to supporting Databricks’ goal of helping customers leverage open table formats. With Informatica’s support for GenAI through Databricks Mosaic AI connectors and GenAI recipes, we’re enabling enterprises to streamline AI initiatives that harness data intelligence and create real business impact.”

Rik Tamm-Daniels, Group Vice President of Strategic Ecosystems and Technology at Informatica, added, “Informatica continues to be at the leading edge of Generative AI, enabling our joint customers to build a data foundation of trusted, AI-ready data. As a launch partner, today’s announcement showcases our ongoing commitment to innovating with Databricks to maximise customer value through deep product enhancement and partnership alignment.”
