Logitech launches hot-swappable Alto Keys K98M keyboard in the US

Logitech launches the hot-swappable Alto Keys K98M in the US, combining a custom mechanical design with wireless productivity features.

Logitech has officially introduced the Alto Keys K98M to the United States, aiming to win over enthusiasts who value both performance and personalisation. The keyboard, already popular in several Asian markets, is now available on Logitech’s official website for US$119. This launch marks the company’s return to the hot-swappable keyboard segment, catering to users who enjoy customising their typing experience without compromising on professional design.

The Alto Keys K98M is equipped with Logitech’s own hot-swappable Logi Marble linear switches, offering users the flexibility to change switches without the need for soldering. Logitech’s last major hot-swappable model was the G Pro X, released in 2019. The new addition reflects the company’s renewed focus on combining work-friendly functionality with enthusiast-level features.

Designed for comfort and style

Unlike Logitech’s gaming-focused mechanical keyboards, which often feature bold RGB lighting, the Alto Keys K98M opts for a more refined look. The keyboard features a translucent frame accented by soft white backlighting, creating a minimalist and professional appearance that suits modern workspaces.

Comfort has been given equal attention in the design. Logitech incorporated its UniCushion mounting system, a full-frame gasket structure that absorbs typing vibrations to provide a smoother, quieter experience. The company claims this design helps reduce fatigue during long hours of typing while improving the overall sound profile.

Connectivity and custom features

Logitech has also ensured that the Alto Keys K98M supports the multi-device workflow that many professionals rely on. The keyboard features three dedicated action keys that can be programmed for specific tasks. Additionally, the first three F keys serve as Easy-Switch buttons, enabling users to switch seamlessly between up to three connected devices.

Connectivity options are versatile, supporting Bluetooth on Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, and iPad OS. The company estimates that the keyboard’s battery can last up to a year when used without backlighting. When the battery runs low, users can continue typing while recharging the device via the USB-C port.

The release of the Alto Keys K98M signals Logitech’s ongoing commitment to bridging the gap between professional productivity tools and enthusiast-grade design. For users seeking a clean aesthetic, premium typing experience, and practical wireless performance, this new keyboard could offer the ideal balance.
