As part of its social impact efforts, DXC has launched several educational programmes, focusing on skill-building, workplace diversity, and inclusion. Key programmes include:

  • DXC Digital Futures Academy: In partnership with the Manchester United Foundation, this academy offers STEM and personal development training for secondary school students, focusing on essential tech skills like virtual reality and coding. Now in its second year, the programme has expanded to Glasgow, providing students with a pathway into further education and tech careers.
  • DXC Dandelion Program: This award-winning programme provides neurodiverse individuals with meaningful roles in technology, addressing skill shortages in areas like data analytics, software automation, and cybersecurity. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Dandelion has expanded from Australia to New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Poland, the Philippines, and Italy.
  • Digital Futures Program: This initiative supports underserved communities by providing refurbished technology, computer literacy training, and hands-on STEM education. In collaboration with programme partners, DXC has positively impacted over 24,000 lives in the past four years across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.
  • STEM Ambassadors Programme: In the UK, DXC volunteers engage with schools, leading STEM-related activities to inspire and educate the next generation of tech enthusiasts.
  • Building a Digital Workforce: To boost digital literacy, DXC collaborates with educational institutions to develop curricula and degree programmes that provide students with real-world experience. This initiative helps address the shortage of ICT professionals by offering internship opportunities and equipping students with skills needed for employment in the digital sector.
  • Code Challenges: For the fifth consecutive year, DXC is sponsoring The DXC Code Challenge in Portugal and DXC Iberia Codes in Spain, designed for students aged 7 to 15. These team-based competitions encourage young learners to explore technology and science through coding platforms like Scratch and MakeCode Arcade.
  • Girls in IT: Based in Brazil, this programme targets young women aged 17 to 21 who are passionate about technology. Through 15 months of immersive training and career guidance, it prepares participants for successful careers in the tech industry, supporting gender diversity in STEM.

Expanding social impact for a sustainable future

DXC’s Social Impact Practice uses technology to create positive societal outcomes, increase diversity and inclusion, and drive sustainable change in communities. Through these initiatives, DXC aims to improve access to education and employment for underrepresented groups in STEM fields, addressing the global skills shortage while fostering a more inclusive workforce.
