In brief: Google introduces augmented reality to Search

At the I/O developer conference, Google announced that it is bringing the camera, computer vision and augmented reality (AR) to Google Search.

  • The company demostrated that you can search for something like the “great white shark” and see it in front of you via your phone’s camera.
  • The tech giant also showed similar exmaples with a 3D model of the human muscular sustem.
  • With the new AR features rolling out later this month in Search, you can now view and interact with 3D objects on Search and can be dropped into the real world at proper scale in AR.
