Sharp launches 4-in-1 Plasmacluster dehumidifier for modern homes

Sharp unveils a 4-in-1 dehumidifier combining humidity control, drying and air purification to improve indoor comfort in modern homes.

Sharp has introduced a new 4-in-1 dehumidifier designed to address humidity, indoor air quality and everyday drying needs in a single device. The DW-T30F combines dehumidifying, laundry drying, shoe drying and air purification, reflecting growing demand for multi-functional home appliances as households spend more time indoors and place greater emphasis on comfort and health.

The 30-litre dehumidifier is positioned as part of Sharp’s broader DW-T Series, which focuses on dependable daily performance while fitting into contemporary living spaces. The company highlighted its suitability for protecting furniture, reducing mould risks and maintaining a more comfortable indoor environment, particularly in humid climates.

The DW-T30F is recommended for room sizes between 39 and 77 square metres for dehumidification. Under standard test conditions, it is capable of removing up to 30 litres of moisture per day at 30°C and 80 per cent relative humidity, or 18.5 litres per day at 26.7°C and 60 per cent relative humidity. This capacity is intended to support consistent humidity control across living rooms, bedrooms and shared spaces without the need for multiple devices.

High-capacity dehumidification and everyday drying functions

At the core of the DW-T30F is a large-capacity dehumidification system designed for ease of use and minimal maintenance. Sharp’s proprietary 1-2 Tank system allows water disposal in two simple steps, pulling out the tank and carrying it away to empty. This design aims to reduce spills and water movement during handling, a common inconvenience with conventional dehumidifiers.

For users who prefer uninterrupted operation, the unit also supports continuous drainage via a compatible hose, enabling 24-hour dehumidification without the need to empty the tank manually. This feature is positioned for households with persistent humidity issues or those using the device in utility areas.

Beyond moisture control, the DW-T30F includes a dedicated Laundry Mode designed to speed up indoor clothes drying. This is particularly relevant in humid weather or for apartments without access to outdoor drying areas. The system uses wide airflow and dual louvres to direct air vertically and horizontally, adapting to different drying layouts. Multi-angle louvre settings automatically adjust airflow based on surrounding conditions, helping to shorten drying times while maintaining consistent performance.

Sharp has also extended the drying function beyond laundry. The DW-T Series includes an attachment that enables targeted drying and deodorisation for shoes, closets and drawers. In the DW-T30F model, this attachment is stored within the unit itself, keeping accessories organised and readily accessible. The approach reflects an effort to consolidate multiple household tasks into a single appliance, reducing clutter and simplifying daily routines.

Integrated air purification and smart home features

A key differentiator of the DW-T30F is the integration of Sharp’s Plasmacluster Ion Technology, which is designed to address odours and airborne pollutants rather than relying solely on filtration. By releasing positive and negative ions, the system targets microscopic airborne contaminants and odours trapped in fabrics, including damp smells, sweat, cigarette smoke, mould and pink slime. This technology is available through the unit’s Air Purify mode and is positioned as an added layer of indoor air care.

Exclusive to the DW-T30F is a three-layer filtration system that complements the ion technology. A HEPA filter captures up to 99.97 per cent of particles as small as 0.3 micrometres, including fine dust such as PM2.5 and PM10. An activated carbon deodorising filter absorbs odours, volatile organic compounds and common household gases like ammonia, while a washable fine-mesh pre-filter traps larger particles such as dust and pet hair. This combination is intended to balance high filtration performance with low ongoing maintenance.

The unit also features an air quality display that provides real-time monitoring of indoor conditions. Supported by Sharp’s Coanda Airflow technology, the system is designed to enhance air circulation and draw dust from across the room more efficiently, contributing to cleaner indoor air over time.

In terms of usability, the DW-T Series incorporates a range of smart and convenience-focused features. Automatic Internal Drying activates after operation to keep the interior dry and clean, while a low-noise design supports quiet use during work, rest or overnight operation. The DW-T30F model adds a built-in light sensor that adjusts LED brightness and automatically switches the unit to a quieter mode based on ambient lighting and room conditions.

Users can also set preferred humidity levels between 40 and 70 per cent through Smart Automatic Operation, which manages the compressor to balance comfort and efficiency. Mobility has been addressed with 360-degree rotating casters, allowing the unit to be moved easily between rooms as needed.

Sharp emphasised safety and reliability as part of the DW-T Series design. Each unit incorporates a 20-point safety protection system and is developed and tested under the company’s engineering standards. The DW-T30F is available in white and charcoal grey finishes, with a recommended retail price of S$799 and a limited-time launch price of S$589. The model is sold through Sharp Singapore’s online channels and selected electronics retailers islandwide.
