Snow Bros. makes a comeback with its first new game in almost 30 years

Snow Bros. Wonderland returns to the classic franchise after nearly 30 years, featuring 3D gameplay, multiplayer co-op, and new challenges. It is now available.

If you grew up playing arcade games, you might remember Snow Bros., a platformer that first arrived in 1990. While it never reached the same fame as other classic arcade titles, it gained a loyal fan base over the years. The last time the franchise saw a brand-new game was in 1994 with Snow Bros. 2, and aside from a remake in 2022, there has been no fresh content—until now.

Snow Bros. Wonderland is the latest instalment in the series and the first to introduce original gameplay and story elements in nearly three decades. In a fitting nod to the franchise’s long dormancy, the game’s story begins with the snowman brothers, Nick and Tom, waking up after a 30-year sleep. Their mission? To defeat the Great King of Evil and restore peace to Snow Land.

A fresh take with 3D gameplay

Unlike its predecessors, which were 2D platformers, Snow Bros. Wonderland features a new look with 3D isometric stages. Fans will be pleased to know that the brothers’ iconic snowball abilities remain intact, allowing players to attack enemies and solve puzzles. The game also introduces a chaining mechanic, letting players combine attacks for strategic gameplay.

Staying true to its arcade roots, Snow Bros. Wonderland offers a party mode, supporting up to four players in local co-op. This brings a new level of fun, making it a great option for multiplayer gaming sessions.

Available now with digital and physical editions

Snow Bros. Wonderland is developed by Tatsujin, a studio made up of former members of Toaplan—the team behind the original Snow Bros. games. It is published by Clear River Games, a company known for working with retro and retro-inspired titles.

The game is available digitally on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 for S$42.68, on Nintendo Switch for US$29.99, and on PC via Steam for S$26. Steam users can also take advantage of a limited-time 40% discount. For those who prefer physical copies, PS5 and Nintendo Switch editions are available, but they are currently exclusive to UK retailers.
