WizzTutor launches AI maths tutor for Singapore students at S$2 a day

WizzTutor launches in Singapore to offer AI-powered, syllabus-aligned Maths support for secondary students at just S$2 a day.

WizzTutor, a newly launched AI-powered learning tool, is now available to help secondary school students in Singapore access personalised Mathematics support for just S$2 a day. The digital platform provides step-by-step guidance tailored to the national curriculum, offering a structured and data-driven alternative to traditional tuition services.

Aligned with the Ministry of Education (MOE) syllabus, WizzTutor’s library includes more than 10,000 questions spanning the full Secondary 1 to 5 Mathematics curriculum. The app supports a handwriting-friendly interface that allows students to work directly on their device’s screen, reinforcing learning through active engagement. One of its core features, “Homework Helper,” enables students to take a photo of their handwritten notes or homework and receive instant, step-by-step explanations without the need to input complex equations manually.

The platform is designed for use outside the classroom across smartphones, tablets and browsers, without requiring an app download. This allows students to practise Mathematics more frequently and conveniently, improving their grasp of core concepts and their readiness for major exams such as the O Levels.

Designed with both students and parents in mind

WizzTutor also offers tools to help parents stay informed about their child’s academic progress. A real-time dashboard and weekly progress reports give families an ongoing view of their child’s performance and learning milestones.

The product was co-founded by Samuel Swee, a former MOE Teaching Scholar, who developed the concept based on his experience with struggling students. “Bright teens often fell behind because help wasn’t there at 11 pm,” said Swee. “WizzTutor puts an adaptive, private math tutor in every student’s pocket for just about the price of a kopi. This makes it a practical option for parents who need extra academic support for their children. Unlike traditional tuition centres where progress can be difficult to track, our dedicated parent dashboard offers real-time updates and weekly reports. It means parents always remain informed of their child’s learning journey.”

Swee’s background in education is complemented by his co-founder Clifford Teo’s experience in scaling tech products across industries including mobility, fintech and Web3. “I’ve built products across industries, but education is where you create the widest impact,” said Teo. “WizzTutor is designed to augment, not replace, classroom and tuition support by offering personalised help on demand. It’s about strengthening the ecosystem so more learners can succeed.”

Meeting rising demand for AI in education

The launch of WizzTutor comes as student adoption of AI tools continues to grow. According to a recent CNA survey, 84% of secondary students in Singapore use AI tools at least once a week for homework, and 63% rely on them specifically for solving Maths problems. This trend reflects a growing appetite for intelligent, syllabus-aligned tools that enhance learning outside the classroom.

Singapore’s education system has already embraced AI through national platforms like the Adaptive Learning System in the Student Learning Space, aimed at promoting personalised learning. WizzTutor builds on this national momentum by offering a flexible, curriculum-aligned solution that students can access whenever they need support—whether at home, on the move or during late-night revision.

With its low daily cost, smart features and seamless integration with the national syllabus, WizzTutor aims to make personalised Maths help more accessible to all students in Singapore.
