Exabeam introduces AI strategy agent to empower cybersecurity leaders

Exabeam Nova adds AI strategy agent to help CISOs plan, justify investments, and improve security posture through board-ready insights.

Exabeam has announced a significant upgrade to its AI-powered security operations platform, Exabeam Nova, with the introduction of the Nova Advisor Agent. Described as the first AI strategy agent designed for chief information security officers (CISOs), the new feature aims to bridge the gap between technical data and boardroom communication, helping security leaders better assess, plan, and explain their cybersecurity strategies.

Exabeam Nova is a multi-agent AI system that integrates intelligence and automation across the security operations centre (SOC). With the addition of the Advisor Agent, it now offers CISOs a real-time strategic planning engine that translates technical security metrics into business-relevant insights. This enables security teams to build actionable roadmaps, justify investments, and demonstrate measurable progress.

Turning data into strategy

The Nova Advisor Agent allows organisations to automatically generate strategic plans using daily security posture assessments, MITRE ATT&CK coverage, and internal data. It also identifies weaknesses in detection capabilities, highlights misconfigurations, and prioritises areas for improvement.

Security leaders can use the tool to run simulations and assess how changes in tools or processes might improve the organisation’s defences. The system also benchmarks progress daily, enabling SOCs to monitor improvements and align their efforts with long-term business goals.

Steve Wilson, Chief AI and Product Officer at Exabeam, explained the shift in focus. “AI in cybersecurity has been mostly about analysing and responding to alerts, but that’s not enough anymore. Exabeam Nova has expanded to become something larger. It’s the first and only AI system that includes an agent built for the CISO. Exabeam Nova doesn’t just tell security leaders where they stand, it diagnoses where they’re at-risk, maps a plan to improve, and arms leaders with the facts to explain decisions to their executive team and board.”

Supporting SOC productivity

The latest release brings the total number of Nova agents to six, each tailored to a specific SOC function such as decision-making, investigation support, and programme benchmarking. These agents are built into the foundation of the Exabeam New-Scale Security Operations Platform and integrated into the full threat detection, investigation and response (TDIR) workflow. According to Exabeam, this approach contrasts with legacy systems where AI is often added as an afterthought to outdated infrastructure.

Chris O’Malley, CEO of Exabeam, highlighted the need for outcome-driven solutions. “Security teams are woefully underfunded and asked to do more with less, yet threats continue to multiply. Exabeam Nova is creating a historic shift in how SOCs operate — moving from reactive alert chasing to strategic process optimisation. What we’re hearing from customers is clear: they trust Exabeam Nova. It’s accurate, reliable, and delivers the real, measurable outcomes they’ve been waiting for.”

Within 90 days of its initial rollout, Exabeam Nova users reported a fivefold improvement in investigation speed, along with higher accuracy. Customers noted the platform’s ability to deliver clear, prioritised insights and justify security programme performance in terms of business value.

Joep Kremer, Business Unit Director Cyber Security at ilionx, praised the way Nova’s AI agents collaborate. “From the moment an alert comes in, the case investigator builds a summary, the assistant helps us dig deeper, and the advisor shows how it all ties back to our overall posture. We can search in plain language, visualise trends instantly, and act on clear, prioritised insights — all in one platform. It’s like having a full team of experts working behind the scenes to keep us fast, focused, and aligned. Exabeam Nova isn’t just smart, it is a game-changer for our SOC.”

Responsive innovation driven by customer needs

Feedback from early adopters has helped shape the platform’s rapid development. David Andrews, Information Security Officer at Extreme Networks, noted the effectiveness of one of Nova’s recent additions. “The new SIEM Security Coverage Analysis Report from the Exabeam Nova Advisor Agent, for example, has allowed us to identify strengths, weaknesses and gaps in our alerting while also providing recommendations on making better use of our log sources.”

A security leader at a finance firm also highlighted Exabeam’s ability to act quickly on customer feedback. “Their level of technical expertise and responsiveness is hard to find in this industry. They are building and delivering a roadmap that reflects what security teams actually need to be successful today. While other tools get stuck in endless investigation, Exabeam empowers us to move quickly and make decisions confidently.”

Exabeam continues to position its platform as a forward-looking solution for under-resourced security teams. With the latest expansion of Exabeam Nova, the company aims to set a new standard for strategic, AI-powered cybersecurity operations.
