ASUS-built supercomputer with NVIDIA HGX H100 ranked among the world’s top supercomputers

ASUS and Ubilink build a supercomputing facility ranked 31st on TOP500 and 44th on Green500, delivering 45.82 PFLOPS and unmatched efficiency.

ASUS, in collaboration with Ubilink, has propelled Taiwan to the forefront of global supercomputing with a facility ranked 31st on the TOP500 list and 44th on the Green500 list. This supercomputing powerhouse achieves 45.82 PFLOPS and delivers groundbreaking efficiency, marking a significant milestone in artificial intelligence (AI) innovation. Ubilink, a joint venture of Foxlink, Ubitus, and Shinfox Energy, partnered with ASUS to create this state-of-the-art centre, which is now Taiwan’s largest data centre.

The facility utilises 128 ASUS ESC N8-E11 servers, equipped with NVIDIA HGX H100 servers, featuring a total of 1,024 GPU cards. The innovative setup redefines AI computing, enabling public cloud services and AI computing rentals for tasks such as training large language models, smart manufacturing, and livestreaming. Notably, the data centre operates with renewable energy options, offering environmentally sustainable packages to its customers.

Strategic collaboration and rapid deployment

Michael Chen, General Manager of Ubilink, highlighted the transformative partnership with ASUS. He stated, “The strategic partnership with ASUS has transformed our vision into reality, allowing us to build a world-class supercomputing facility that empowers the next wave of AI innovation in Taiwan and beyond.” He praised ASUS for its advanced software solutions and services, which made it possible to achieve these remarkable performance milestones within just three months.

ASUS played a key role in the rapid deployment of this facility, leveraging its Infrastructure Deployment Centre (AIDC) tool. This tool streamlined the management of infrastructure, cooling systems, and advanced automation, ensuring high reliability and efficiency.

Outstanding efficiency and advanced technology

The ASUS-Ubilink project stands out for its superior computing efficiency. It utilises NVIDIA HGX H100 SXM5 80GB InfiniBand NDR400 servers with 128 nodes of ESC N8-E11, delivering an Rmax of 45.82 PFLOPS with an efficiency rate of 66.08%. ASUS’s performance is 1.23 times more efficient than competitors under similar GPU and high-speed network conditions.

Comparison of efficiency:

BrandNode CountEfficiency
Brand A19053.62%
Brand B6464.58%
ASUS-Ubilink12866.08%

This unmatched performance has solidified ASUS’s position as a leader in AI infrastructure solutions, capable of delivering cutting-edge technology with enhanced stability.

Future impact and global reach

This achievement reflects ASUS’s commitment to advancing AI innovation and enabling industries worldwide. The facility’s focus on AI-powered solutions and its ability to cater to high-demand applications like smart manufacturing and large-scale AI training models underscore its global significance. The partnership also demonstrates the potential of collaboration in driving technological progress.

The ASUS-Ubilink supercomputing project is not just a leap forward for Taiwan but also a milestone in sustainable and efficient AI computing.
