REDMAGIC launches Astra Gaming Tablet in Singapore starting at S$799 with free gifts

REDMAGIC launches Astra Gaming Tablet in Singapore with OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite, and up to 24GB RAM, from S$799.

REDMAGIC has officially launched its Astra Gaming Tablet in Singapore, positioning it as a high-performance device built for gamers and creators. Available from S$799 during the first sale period, the tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and features a 9.06-inch OLED display, up to 24GB of RAM, and 1TB of internal storage.

The device is available in three variants and comes with complimentary gifts, including a REDMAGIC 80W charger and screen protector, for purchases made from 10 to 31 July through Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok REDMAGIC stores.

Compact design with premium features

The REDMAGIC Astra Gaming Tablet combines a portable form factor with advanced design elements. The 9.06-inch OLED display delivers 2.4K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals for gaming and content consumption. The display supports a cinematic 16:10 aspect ratio and covers 90.1% of the front surface, thanks to ultra-slim bezels. It also reaches a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and boasts an industry-leading contrast ratio of up to 1,000,000:1.

Built with a transparent metal body and flat rear panel, the tablet includes rounded corners and RGB lighting. These elements enhance both aesthetics and usability. Despite its power, the device remains lightweight and easy to hold with one hand.

The tablet features a USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2) port, enabling fast data transfer and support for high-resolution video output. It also supports external connections to monitors, SSDs, controllers, and docking stations, making it suitable for both work and play.

Gaming-focused performance and thermal management

At its core, the Astra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, supported by LPDDR5T RAM and UFS 4.1 Pro storage. A secondary RedCore R3 Pro chip handles tasks such as display rendering, thermal control, and system optimisation, allowing the main processor to focus on high-intensity workloads.

To support demanding sessions, the Astra incorporates a 13-layer ICE-X cooling system. This includes Liquid Metal 2.0 with 200 W/m·K thermal conductivity and dual-layer vapour chambers. A built-in high-speed turbofan, spinning at 20,000 RPM, ensures effective heat dissipation. These elements work together to maintain stable frame rates and boost charging efficiency by up to 13%.

Battery life is another highlight, with an 8,200mAh unit powering up to 6.67 hours of Call of Duty Mobile, 5.56 hours of Genshin Impact, or 33 hours of video playback. Fast charging restores the battery in just 64 minutes. Features like charge separation help reduce heat generation during use.

Enhanced audio, input, and software features

The tablet delivers rich, directional sound through stereo dual 1620 speakers and is DTS:X Ultra certified. Dual x-axis linear motors provide haptic feedback for added immersion. Touch responsiveness is enhanced through co-development with Synaptics, offering a 2,000Hz instant touch sampling rate and 240Hz average rate.

Running on REDMAGIC OS 10.5 based on Android 15, the Astra also includes Google Gemini AI for tasks such as writing, translation, and image editing. It supports face and fingerprint unlock, USB OTG, DisplayPort output, and offers a customisable Magic Key for quick access to key functions.

The tablet is compatible with various accessories including a stylus, folio case, and screen protector. An upcoming REDMAGIC Gamepad will offer console-style control, Hall effect joysticks, programmable buttons, and compatibility with other tablets and smartphones. The Gamepad also supports REDMAGIC’s external cooling systems.

Pricing and availability

The REDMAGIC Astra Gaming Tablet is available in three configurations: 12GB RAM + 256GB storage (S$1,199 RRP, S$799 promo), 16GB + 512GB (S$1,399 RRP, S$999 promo), and 24GB + 1TB (S$1,699 RRP, S$1,249 promo). The first sale promotion runs from 10 to 31 July and includes a free REDMAGIC 80W charger and screen protector, valued at a combined S$98.

Shoppers can purchase the tablet through REDMAGIC’s official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.
