BDx unveils Southeast Asia’s first hybrid quantum AI testbed in Singapore

BDx launches Southeast Asia’s first hybrid quantum AI testbed in Singapore, boosting AI innovation and sustainability at the SIN1 data centre.

If you’re in Singapore and keen on the cutting edge of technology, there’s big news coming from BDx Data Centres. On July 10, BDx launched Southeast Asia’s first hybrid quantum AI testbed at its SIN1 facility in Paya Lebar. This isn’t just a small upgrade—it’s a bold leap into the future of artificial intelligence and computing.

This project was made possible through a new partnership with Anyon Technologies, a global leader in large-scale quantum computing. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mark the start of this collaboration. The goal? To bring quantum-powered AI within reach for startups, enterprises, and government agencies across the region.

The testbed is designed to help you explore and develop real-world applications using quantum-enhanced AI. Whether you’re working on financial models, logistics, or cutting-edge research, this facility gives you access to advanced infrastructure—something that could have a major impact on how innovation grows in Singapore and beyond.

Supporting Singapore’s green and smart goals

You’ll be glad to know that this move aligns with Singapore’s Green 2030 and Smart Nation initiatives. The SIN1 facility doesn’t just deliver power and performance; it also sets a new bar for sustainability. It features a 20% increase in energy efficiency thanks to smart automation and advanced cooling technology. Even more impressive, it’s the first in Singapore to use an AI-powered digital twin, allowing the centre to optimise energy use and performance in real time.

Mayank Srivastava, CEO of BDx, explained why this is such a key moment for the company and the industry. “Staying ahead of the curve has always been part of our DNA at BDx,” he said. “From deploying NVIDIA GPUs across the region to now bringing quantum computing into our data centre, we’re not just reacting to innovation—we’re leading it. Together, we’re creating an open platform to unlock the real potential of quantum computing.”

For Anyon Technologies, the goal is to help you access quantum power without the complexity. According to Dr Jie (Roger) Luo, President and CEO of Anyon, “Modern computers are no longer just machines—they’re entire data centres. By placing a hybrid quantum system at BDx SIN1, we’re opening up the power of quantum algorithms and making it easier for companies, including financial institutions in Singapore, to adopt and benefit from this tech.”

An open platform for AI and quantum breakthroughs

The SIN1 facility is more than just a building; it is a hub of innovation and creativity. It’s becoming a regional AI Hub and Innovation Centre that supports growth and experimentation. BDx is opening its AI-ready infrastructure to give startups, developers, and researchers the freedom to prototype and scale their ideas more easily. If you’re involved in high-growth AI or government-led innovation, this could be your launchpad.

Srivastava believes Singapore is the right place to do this. “Operators in Asia have a critical role in building the ecosystem needed to accelerate AI adoption. Singapore is already a global innovation hub—this testbed gives developers the tools they need to build and grow,” he said.

Looking ahead, BDx and Anyon plan to expand this hybrid quantum model across other key Asian markets, including Indonesia, Hong Kong SAR, and Taiwan. They aim to form a regional network of quantum-enabled data centres that could change how you build, process, and apply intelligent systems.

With this launch, you’re witnessing the start of a new era in data infrastructure—one where quantum and AI combine to deliver smarter, greener, and more powerful solutions.
