Persona 5: The Phantom X finally arrives in Southeast Asia

Persona 5: The Phantom X launches in Southeast Asia with a fresh story, fan-favourite characters, and a special event running until July 31.

After a long wait, Persona 5: The Phantom X has finally launched in Southeast Asia. While other regions enjoyed early betas and a global release last week, players in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines had to wait a bit longer.

But now, the wait is over—you can download the game today and dive into a brand new Persona adventure.

A fresh story with familiar flair

If you loved Persona 5, this new title will feel right at home. Although The Phantom X is set in a parallel universe, it captures the same iconic style, music, and gameplay you know so well.

Instead of the well-known Joker and Morgana, you’ll follow a new protagonist named Wonder. He leads his group of Phantom Thieves as they take on mysterious challenges and dive into the hearts of corrupted adults. Just like in the original series, you’ll build your team, strengthen your “Confidants”, and take part in intense turn-based battles.

The game is free-to-play and features a gacha system. That means you’ll be collecting characters and items through randomised pulls—but don’t worry, there are plenty of chances to earn rewards as you play, especially now during launch.

Meet the original Phantom Thieves

Even though this game features a new cast, the original Persona 5 characters are far from forgotten. A special crossover event is now live, bringing back the beloved Phantom Thieves of Hearts.

From now until July 31, you can add Joker and other fan favourites to your team. Joker appears as a powerful 5-star unit during this limited-time event. Alongside this, the game is offering special launch bonuses—free pulls, exclusive items, and plenty of chances to boost your early game progress.

This collaboration gives you the best of both worlds: a fresh storyline with new faces, and a nostalgic return to the characters that made Persona 5 such a hit.

How to play and who’s behind it

Persona 5: The Phantom X is available now on iOS, Android, and PC. If you’re planning to play on PC, you’ll need to download the game directly from the official P5X website.

The game is a joint effort between Atlus’s P-Studio and Chinese developer Perfect World Games, known for titles like Tower of Fantasy. For Southeast Asia and Taiwan, The Phantom X is published by IWPLAY, ensuring that localisation and support match the needs of regional players.

Whether you’re a seasoned Phantom Thief or a first-time player, this is the perfect chance to jump into a world filled with mystery, stylish battles, and unforgettable characters. And with the SEA launch finally here, you’re no longer missing out.
