ASUS VivoWatch ECG app certified by Thailand’s FDA

ASUS VivoWatch ECG app receives certification from FDA Thailand, supporting real-time heart monitoring and hospital-grade health tracking.

ASUS has received official certification from Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA Thai) for its ECG monitoring app, marking a major step forward in the company’s expansion into digital healthcare. The certified electrocardiogram (ECG) app, designed for use with the ASUS VivoWatch series, reflects the company’s growing commitment to developing medical-grade technology that supports personal health and wellness.

Joe Hsieh, Chief Operating Officer and Global Senior Vice President of ASUS, said, “Our goal is to empower individuals and healthcare providers with the best health monitoring tools. This certification validates our technology and also reinforces the ASUS commitment to expanding global access to smart, medical-grade health solutions.”

Certified for smart healthcare

The ASUS VivoWatch ECG app allows users to record ECG readings directly from their wrist using the VivoWatch 6 or VivoWatch 6 AERO models. By placing a fingertip on the watch’s sensors for 30 seconds, users can capture an ECG reading and view the results on the spot. The data can also be shared easily with a healthcare provider, making the solution practical for both personal health monitoring and institutional use.

Certification from FDA Thailand is expected to boost confidence in the product’s clinical reliability, especially in a region where demand for digital health tools is rising. ASUS sees this milestone as a key validation of its ongoing efforts to enter regulated healthcare markets with solutions that combine convenience, accuracy and ease of use.

Designed for individual and institutional settings

The ECG functionality is not limited to personal health use. ASUS has positioned the VivoWatch as a versatile tool that can be adopted by hospitals, clinics, and other medical providers. It is also suited for integration into business-to-business (B2B) services, particularly in scenarios where premium care or concierge health services are offered to VIP clients.

In addition to ECG monitoring, ASUS VivoWatch also supports blood pressure tracking. This enables users to monitor two critical cardiovascular health indicators simultaneously. The device delivers real-time, accurate data that can assist early detection of heart-related issues. For healthcare institutions, this capability may contribute to improved patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Available via software update

ASUS has made the ECG feature available immediately through a software update. Users simply need to update both the ASUS HealthConnect app and their VivoWatch firmware to start using the certified ECG monitoring tool. This update brings advanced heart health monitoring to more users across Thailand and potentially other markets where regulatory approvals may follow.

ASUS’s growing portfolio of smart health products reflects its wider strategy to blend consumer technology with medically relevant solutions. With regulatory backing now in place, the company is better positioned to support healthcare providers and consumers alike with data-driven tools for proactive health management.
