DJI launches Osmo Mobile 7 series with smarter stabilisation and tracking

DJI unveils the Osmo Mobile 7 Series, featuring smarter tracking, stabilisation, and hands-free controls for professional-quality smartphone videos.

DJI has introduced the Osmo Mobile 7 Series, its latest smartphone stabiliser aimed at making professional-grade videography more accessible. The new models, Osmo Mobile 7P and Osmo Mobile 7, come with upgraded tracking and stabilisation, offering smoother footage and better subject focus.

The new series features DJI’s seventh-generation stabilisation system and the improved ActiveTrack 7.0, which enhances motion tracking, even in crowded or fast-moving environments. The Osmo Mobile 7P includes an additional Multifunctional Module, offering integrated lighting and microphone support.

“With the Osmo Mobile 7 Series’ latest advances in intelligent tracking and camera stabilisation, capturing beautiful, professional content with a smartphone has never been easier,” said Ferdinand Wolf, Product Experience Director at DJI.

A closer look at the new models

The Osmo Mobile 7P builds on its predecessor’s success with a three-axis stabilisation system that keeps footage steady, even with fast movement. It remains lightweight and portable but introduces improved tracking and a new Multifunctional Module. This module allows users to adjust lighting, connect an external microphone, and even charge their phone via USB-C.

The Osmo Mobile 7 is a more affordable option, weighing just 10 ounces (300g). It features a compact design with a built-in tripod and a one-step folding mechanism for quick setup. While it lacks the advanced features of the 7P, it still supports the Multifunctional Module, which is sold separately.

The new Multifunctional Module improves subject tracking, working across different apps, including native smartphone cameras, live-streaming platforms, and third-party recording apps. It ensures that the gimbal keeps subjects in focus, even if they briefly move out of the frame.

DJI has also introduced intuitive hand gesture controls, allowing users to operate the gimbal without touching it:

  • Raising a palm starts or stops tracking.
  • Making a “V” gesture takes a photo or begins/stops video recording.
  • Using a “Double L” gesture adjusts framing automatically.

With ActiveTrack 7.0, DJI’s most advanced tracking system, the gimbal can lock onto a subject and follow movements smoothly. The Smart Capture feature detects multiple people, letting users switch focus with a simple tap.

Other key features

  • Side wheel for cinematic control – Adjust focal length, zoom smoothly, or manually focus. A long press controls lighting adjustments.
  • Apple Watch compatibility – The DJI Mimo app enables remote control via an Apple Watch.
  • Up to 10 hours of battery life – Suitable for extended shooting sessions.

Price and availability

The Osmo Mobile 7 Series is available starting today on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, Amazon, and authorised retailers.

  • Osmo Mobile 7P: S$189
  • Osmo Mobile 7: S$119

Accessories such as the DJI OM Magnetic Quick-Release Mount, DJI Mic Mini Transmitter, DJI OM 7 Series Tracking Kit, and DJI OM Grip Tripod are also available for purchase.
