EA’s upcoming Battlefield game potentially leaked ahead of official reveal

EA’s next Battlefield game may have leaked, with creators sharing promo crates and an event rumoured for 29 July.

Electronic Arts (EA) appears to have had its plans for the next Battlefield game prematurely revealed through a series of online leaks. Although the publisher has yet to make an official announcement, promotional materials labelled “Battlefield 6” have surfaced online, hinting at what may be in store for fans of the popular first-person shooter franchise.

Content creators receive Battlefield 6 promotional crates

Speculation over the upcoming game intensified after a now-deleted social media post by gaming YouTuber DooM49 showed a promotional crate bearing the title “Battlefield 6”. According to the creator, the package was sent directly by EA and featured multiple straps emblazoned with references to classic Battlefield game modes such as “conquest,” “breakthrough,” and “rush”. These hints suggest a return to traditional gameplay mechanics that long-time fans may recognise.

Another well-known Battlefield creator, rivaLxfactor, provided further context in a separate post on X (formerly Twitter), confirming that EA is expected to hold a multi-day event beginning on 29 July. This event is reportedly set to include interviews with developers, special guest appearances, and a first look at new game content. EA has not officially verified the timing and structure of the event, but the consistency between the reports of both creators lends credibility to the leak.

EA is silent on leaks, but the timeline matches earlier statements

EA has not commented publicly on the circulating leaks, nor has it announced a Battlefield event for late July. However, the company’s previously published roadmap does offer some context. In its financial results for the fourth quarter, EA indicated that it planned to unveil a new Battlefield game during the summer. It also outlined an expected release window before April 2026.

While the leaked promotional materials and event dates remain unconfirmed, they are consistent with EA’s timeline. The mention of an open beta launch following the reveal event further suggests the publisher is aiming to build early momentum for the title among fans and testers alike.

This new release follows Battlefield 2042, which was launched in 2021 and received mixed reviews, struggling to maintain a consistent player base. As of now, it holds a “Mixed” rating on Steam. Many within the gaming community see the following title—tentatively referred to as Battlefield 6—as a potential opportunity for EA to revitalise the series and win back disillusioned fans.

A pivotal moment for the Battlefield franchise

If the leaks prove accurate, Battlefield 6 may mark a significant return to form for the franchise. The apparent focus on familiar multiplayer modes, a structured pre-launch campaign through content creators, and an open beta could be EA’s attempt to reconnect with its core player base.

The use of influencers to tease promotional content also reflects a growing trend in the gaming industry, where community-driven marketing plays a key role in generating hype. With Battlefield 2042’s lukewarm reception still fresh in players’ minds, EA may be banking on nostalgia and improved execution to regain trust.

For now, fans will need to wait until the end of July to see if the leaks are accurate. Should EA confirm the event, it may set the stage for the most ambitious Battlefield launch in years.
