Samsung introduces new Smart Monitor range featuring first OLED M9 model

Samsung launches a new Smart Monitor range, featuring the first OLED M9 model and refreshed M8 and M7 models with AI and productivity upgrades.

Samsung has unveiled its latest Smart Monitor lineup, which includes the debut of the Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF) with a 4K OLED display. The new release also features updated versions of the Smart Monitor M8 (M80F) and Smart Monitor M7 (M70F), bringing enhanced performance, improved visuals, and smart functionality to the series.

Smart Monitor M9 debuts OLED technology

The newly launched Smart Monitor M9 marks the first time Samsung has introduced OLED display technology to its Smart Monitor range. The monitor features a 32-inch 4K OLED screen that offers vivid colour reproduction and deep contrast, with a rapid response time of 0.03 milliseconds (GTG). Designed for smooth visuals, it supports refresh rates of up to 165Hz and is compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC, making it suitable for fast-paced gaming and high-resolution content viewing.

To address concerns related to OLED burn-in, Samsung has incorporated its OLED Safeguard+ technology. Additionally, the display features a glare-free coating, enhancing visibility in bright environments. For professionals seeking colour accuracy, the Smart Monitor M9 is Pantone-validated and capable of displaying over 2,100 Pantone colours, along with 110 SkinTone shades.

The M9 also features advanced visual and audio enhancements. It includes Samsung’s AI Picture Optimiser, 4K AI Upscaling Pro, and Active Voice Amplifier Pro, all of which automatically adjust the monitor’s settings to deliver improved clarity and sound based on the content being viewed and the surrounding conditions.

M8 and M7 models receive upgrades

Alongside the flagship M9, Samsung has refreshed the Smart Monitor M8 and M7 models. Both monitors now feature 32-inch 4K UHD VA panels, designed for users seeking reliable performance for daily productivity tasks and media consumption. The updated monitors also include AI-powered tools such as “Click to Search,” which enhances content discovery and user interaction.

Operating on the latest version of Tizen OS Home, the M8 and M7 now offer personalised content recommendations and quicker access to frequently used applications. Samsung has pledged to support these models with up to seven years of One UI Tizen updates, ensuring long-term usability and feature continuity.

Both the M8 and M7 support SmartThings integration, Multi View, and Multi Control, allowing users to connect and manage other Samsung devices directly from the monitor. Built-in access to Microsoft 365 also enables users to view, create, and edit documents without needing a separate computer.

The Smart Monitor M7 is also available in a larger 43-inch version, offering users a more expansive viewing experience.

Key differences between the M8 and M7

While the M8 and M7 share several core features, they are distinguished by a few notable differences. The M8 delivers a higher peak brightness of 400 nits and supports HDR10+ for improved dynamic range, whereas the M7 offers 300 nits of brightness with standard HDR10 support.

In terms of physical design, the M8 features a height-adjustable stand that can pivot and includes a built-in webcam, enhancing its functionality for remote work and video conferencing. The M7, on the other hand, has a fixed stand and lacks a camera. The M8 is only available in a 32-inch size, whereas the M7 offers more flexibility with both 32-inch and 43-inch options.

These distinctions position the M8 as a more premium offering with additional features, while the M7 serves as a more accessible choice for users who prioritise screen size and value.

The Smart Monitor M9, M8, and M7 models are now available for purchase. Consumers can find them through the Samsung Online Store, Samsung’s official Lazada and Shopee pages, as well as major electronic retailers.
