Honor Magic V5 makes global debut in Singapore with launch price of S$2,199

Honor Magic V5 lands in Singapore at S$2,199 with slim design, top-tier specs, and generous pre-order bundles.

If you’ve been waiting for the latest in foldable smartphones, the Honor Magic V5 has just made its first overseas stop — right here in Singapore. This marks the global debut of Honor’s newest flagship foldable, fresh off its initial launch in China during a livestreamed keynote.

Honor confirmed in a media update that Singapore is the first international market to receive the device. The Magic V5, which is available in China in three configurations starting from CNY 8,999, will retail in Singapore at S$2,199 for the 512GB model. Pre-orders begin on July 16, with full retail availability starting from July 23.

Thinner than ever, with durability to match

What makes the Honor Magic V5 stand out immediately is its ultra-slim profile. The phone measures just 8.8mm when folded and a mere 4.2mm when unfolded. It weighs 217g — lighter than even the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which weighs 227g and measures 8.25mm thick. This engineering feat is the result of several innovations both inside and out.

The battery technology plays a major role in keeping the device slim. In the Chinese version of the phone, the 6,100mAh battery is built with stacked layers only 0.18mm thick, equivalent to the width of a human hair. Singapore’s version comes with a slightly smaller 5,820mAh silicon-carbon battery, but the slimness remains a defining feature.

The rear of the device is protected by a new material described by Honor as a “golden soft silk armour.” This special fibre, used in astronaut space suits and traction ropes, is only 0.014mm thick and delivers 40 times the impact resistance compared to previous models. The hinge system is also new and more precise than ever. Known as the Super Steel Hinge, it’s built using advanced manufacturing methods and artificial intelligence to achieve an accuracy of 0.03 mm, with over 500 precision points across the folding mechanism.

Flagship performance packed inside

Underneath its sleek build, the Honor Magic V5 doesn’t compromise on power. It features the full 8-core version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This gives it an edge over some competitors, such as the OPPO Find N5, which uses a 7-core version due to space limitations.

The triple rear camera setup is led by a 50MP primary lens, joined by a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. These are backed by advanced AI features including telephoto tuning, ultra-clear portrait capabilities, film simulation modes, and Honor’s Hawkeye continuous shooting system.

The 7.95-inch main display delivers up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, ensuring clear visuals even under direct sunlight. The secondary display is coated with an upgraded glass layer that offers ten times more drop resistance, three times more wear resistance, and fifteen times more scratch resistance. It also features an antibacterial finish, reinforcing the phone’s durability beyond its aesthetic appeal.

It also supports fast charging, with 66W wired and 50W wireless options, and features IP58 and IP59 ratings for water and dust resistance.

Launch deals and telco offers

The 512GB version of the Honor Magic V5 is priced at S$2,199 in Singapore, in line with the previous Magic V2 model. From July 16, pre-order customers will receive a launch bundle valued at up to S$837. The bundle includes an Honor Pad 10 tablet, an Honor Magic Pen stylus which works across both devices, and a one-year extended warranty for extra peace of mind.

You can also buy an Honor Choice Foldable Bluetooth Keyboard at a discounted price of S$39, down from its usual retail price of S$79, when purchased alongside the phone.

The Magic V5 is also available via telco plans from M1 and Singtel, where customers can pick it up with no upfront cost. Depending on the selected plan, buyers can receive additional gifts worth up to S$1,036. StarHub’s offering includes a two-year 5G Device Plan with trade-in cashback and savings of up to S$710.

All promotions are subject to availability and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with terms and conditions applying.
