Garmin launches Varia Vue, its first cycling headlight with 4K camera

[output_post_excerpt]

Garmin Singapore has announced the launch of the Varia Vue, a new safety-focused cycling accessory that combines a powerful headlight with a front-facing 4K camera. Aimed at road cyclists, the device is designed to enhance visibility while capturing video footage during rides. The Varia Vue will be available in Singapore from 28 April 2025 at a recommended retail price of S$799.

The 4K camera records sharp, stabilised footage using Electronic Image Stabilisation technology and automatically saves clips if an incident is detected. This includes video from before, during, and after a potential crash. When connected via Wi-Fi, saved clips can be uploaded to Garmin Vault, a secure online storage service available to subscribers. Riders can later review and edit footage using the Varia app.

“With Varia Vue, cyclists can embark on rides knowing they’re more likely to be seen on the road when using the headlight and are equipped with a high-resolution camera that can capture it all. We’re thrilled to add another tool to Garmin’s unparalleled cycling lineup, giving riders the confidence they need to pursue their passion with greater peace of mind than ever before,” said Mr Scoppen Lin, Assistant General Manager at Garmin Asia.

Smart lighting and long battery life

The Varia Vue is more than just a camera. It features a 600-lumen smart headlight that adjusts its output based on the cyclist’s speed and ambient conditions, when paired with a compatible Garmin Edge cycling computer. The light includes five modes, including a flashing daytime setting, and uses a cutoff beam design to reduce glare for oncoming vehicles, improving safety for both riders and others on the road.

Battery performance is another strong point. The device offers up to 7 hours of battery life when both the camera and day flash mode are active, and up to 9 hours with the headlight turned off. It can also be charged while in use, making it ideal for extended rides.

Additional features include a concealed microphone for capturing clear audio and remote access to settings via the Varia app or a connected Edge cycling computer. Installation is simple, with support for existing Garmin Edge out-front mounts. The Varia Vue can also be paired with the Varia RCT715 radar taillight camera, sold separately, for dual-angle video capture during rides.

The Varia Vue will be available at Garmin Brand Stores, Lazada, Shopee, Garmin’s Online Store, Takashimaya, and selected authorised retailers.
